  1. Comics are just another commodity like rare sports cards, coins, gold, silver, paintings, classic cars ect... 10% is recommended to play it safe. Comics were never meant to be "Collectible" which is part of the reason why they are so expensive now. Beanie Babies were manufactured to be collectible just like people are buying statues from Sideshow/XM/Prime 1 ect...
  2. This isnt the real asking price, this is "I don't wanna sell it unless someone offers me stupid money for it" price.
  3. Very little Spawn art has made it to market. He's kept all his Spawn art from the series. What has been released is promo stuff
  4. In 2006 I sold all my comics and bought 3 pieces of art...haven't bought any since then, went back to comics I don't even know what my art is even worth anymore.
  5. It came from an original owner collection who lives locally and has been selling them through craigslist, it was sold to a local dealer among many others as the OO had multiple copies of everything (150 NM+ copies of Wolverine LS). I went to a local show and I've become very friendly with the local dealer as well as the OO, So I know what the dealer paid and he gave me a break on it and picked out the best one that I thought had 9.8 potential, I took it home, cleaned and pressed it and sent it into CGC, so I'm excited it came back 9.8, I was thinking it'd be a 9.6
  6. I can't show mine, it won't be worth as much if i show it
  7. 301 was actually supposed to be a Newsstand variant cover of the 300, When McFarlane brought the idea to his editor he said "No one is going to buy the same issue twice" So they made it 301
  8. I'm more concerned about theft than I am a fire, I don't own a house so getting a safe is out of the question. I can't find any safe deposit boxes available in my area that offer sizes bigger than 10 X 10 X 10 which is what I use to store my slabs in.
  9. Awesome storage drawers, do you have a myslabbedcomics.com gallery so I can see all your books? You should get one if you don't
  10. Doesn't mean anything if the demand isn't there
  11. Mcfarlane only drew the first 24 issues of spawn before handing it off to Capullo
  12. Picked this up the other day...Just glad I was able to come across a copy.
  13. Well if you have any copies you wanna dump, I'll take them.
  14. It's sounds like a setting on brightness that's the problem, turn it down to increase the black, turn it up to increase white. Just have to set it so it's easy on the eyes and having the setting in the middle doesn't always accomplish this. I have a HP 8250 with Vuescan. I have the setting to "Neutral" and the black level % at max and then adjust the brightness setting to where I'm happy with it. Hope this helps!
  15. I do this with Hulk 181 and AF 15 everyday, I'll pick those up when they crash and then i'll pounce on them !
  16. Flipping to buy more comics has been going on since as far back as I've been alive. Now it's a race to the dollar boxes after a movie announcement. Get in, get your money and get out. People paying it still haven't learned.
