  1. I'll never have an autographed Stan Lee anything. When was the last time new price records were broken with Stan Lee's autograph on it??
  2. If you want to learn how to press, pay someone to show you how to do it, who you know is good at and get the results you want, even if they want $1000, it's still a good investment
  3. It's not that hard, just takes some practice, the press does all the work.
  4. Cracked case is no big deal if the book is fine. If the book is for yourself, I don't see a rush to get it reholdered. However, you could crack it out, and have it pressed.
  5. Guys like Gene and other BSDs have so much cash to throw around, he isn't worried about an AF 15, he can get one anytime.
  6. Humidity gets into the paper, just have it pressed
  7. Heya, Just got in 18 new slabs that have been added to my ebay store, tons of keys and high grade stuff. Be sure to follow since more slabs are on their way! http://stores.ebay.com/eternitycomix/_i.html?_dmd=2&_sid=11441353&_sop=10
  8. I wouldn't say Kevin Nowlan is producing bad art now, however the cover is less than steller (imo) and that does happen, they all can't be great. However, I do blame the editors today since they are the ones who approve which cover is to be used. An artist will sketch out a few different covers and the editor will pick the one he feels best suits the story inside, and most editors pick the wrong one. Just cause the artist doesn't "draw pretty" doesn't mean they are bad comic book artist, the main objective of a comic book artist is to tell a story through pictures in a sequence so the story will move. That's what makes Frank Miller so good. Do you really think the art in The Dark Knight Returns looked good? Not really, but everything else was awesome.
  9. Id go with the ASM 300 9.8 because 1) It's a Marvel book 2) It's Spider-Man 3) it's the 1st Venom 4th) it's Mcfarlane and 5th) it's a 9.8 I almost gave it to BA 12 but that would need to be a 9.8. NM 98, nice book that seems to be holding it's value but the market is flooded with them.
  10. She looks terrible, this is typical "Well Deadpool and Cable are white", so they had to put to cast someone of color.
  11. It's really not that hard. I used to think "What if I screw this up??" but it's really just another book. Practice on cheap books first.
  12. Right now my grail is a Wonder Woman 73 and 74 in 9.8
  13. Some people don't care, they just "have to have it"
  14. You could learn to press comics yourself and save a lot of time/money, that's what I did.
  15. I don't like the design of the covers from Marvel these days...Where is the issue number? Bottom of the book? Who was the design genius that came up with that idea and who was the big shot who gave it the green light? The art covers look more like posters than a compelling cover to draw a reader in, there's no drama anymore i.e "Who will die???" or "Get lost Spider-Man, we don't need you!!" The dialogue is cheesy and there aren't any ground breaking art styles anymore. Comics now are over sexualized and making alternate versions of characters only to make them of color is an epic fail. What's next? Peter Parker is "transgender" and Bruce Banner is gay and his boyfriend is General Ross and are making wedding plans?? This is the comic world we live in now. Thank the left.
  16. I can tell the book hasn't been pressed...yet
  17. i'd take the af 15, cars don't last and are pretty much a money pit.
  18. Frazetta's wife would only take cash Just sayin...
  19. Best to do a cash only deal when selling high end art. Don't make cash deposits of 10K+ at once or make 3333.33 deposits, 3 months in a row either.
  20. I guess money really does buy happiness
  21. checks can be safe if you've known the person awhile, but then again, anyone can write a check for any amount and walk away with their purchase.
