  1. It's a newsstand for sure but there's not enough to have CGC break it out in the census.

See link below for what CGC would consider in breaking out newsstand and directs for a particular issue

E.g., Amazing Spider-Man 607, the newsstand edition has a $3.99 cover price but the direct is $2.99. CGC distinguishes between the two.

  3. a screenshot from a gplus thread during the time of those 5below packs. heres someone's haul. distribution didnt appear to be consistent imo as I didn't get any UF4 from my 5below. I only got 1 ASM4 Ramos but about 15 of the 1:75 Elektra 1 Sienkiewicz. I bought about 30 packs. I also got some All New Marvel Now Point One 1 1st and 2nd prints. these were some great packs

If you look carefully, you will see America Chavez on the Granov cover of Marvel Now! Point One #1 (2012), making it her first cover appearance.

Granted, it is a horrible first cover appearance, but it doesn't change the fact that it is her first cover appearance. Now for the question, does it make a difference since she has a much better cover appearance in Young Avengers vol 2 #1 that stands as the market's view of her first appearance?

yup. it's 1st cover app and sets the story up for the new young avengers line up. so a relevant book for sure. but it's debatable if the YA vol 2 1 is a better cover imo... her first good cover might be the hans variant to #2 ... bubble gum cover as well.

In case anyone wanted to see some of what is inside.

Thinking it's selling low right now.  1st Young Avengers, 1st Ronin, and one other thing I'm not seeing mentioned.  House of M and it's specifically the Witch having and losing the kids.  Damn.  Pretty sure it's around the 1st Extremis Iron Man armor. Unbelievable 2 page Black Panther spread.

May be the best accumulation of art by multiple artists in a preview.

Lack of Hawkeye Lady is a bummer.

NOTE: I need to check on Ronin.  Pretty sure there was a cover with Ronin on #1 and this looks to have come out around the same time.  By the way, not sure why everyone is saying Ronan.  I don't recall seeing it spelled that way (thought that was the villain).

When sending in cards for submission I use penny sleeve, in top loader, but I also use the post its cut into flags, which are then folded over the top to keep card from coming out. This also provides a safe way to remove the penny sleeve from the top loader. I also make sure to fold the edge of any painters tape I use for easy removal. Here are some pictures I took showing how I package and materials used , so I could share with a friend who was getting ready for his first submission. 20200724_183715.thumb.jpg.03571515f5cd333643353094c832806c.jpg20200724_183725.thumb.jpg.c9374518011b299c4d9fc8ce0b46fd70.jpg20200724_182156.thumb.jpg.b9472f7689dfdf9360ea648f84be559c.jpg20200724_182224.thumb.jpg.1166fbe9c0d2fddba4552d04e064e456.jpg20200724_182246.thumb.jpg.8a7e37d7c3edc4e9057f9a38e097159b.jpg20200724_182305.thumb.jpg.102241a166a8430b284451f00817c02b.jpg20200724_182320.thumb.jpg.f36d06545e6e12c0b781132444ec48bd.jpg20200724_182336.thumb.jpg.6fbcf20d4b4eb6e1f8093f4a9928c0a1.jpg20200724_182402.thumb.jpg.8cda1bdd32e4d226c75e335a97a89b3a.jpg20200724_182415.thumb.jpg.f1ac6d3b1f232f1748187a55d24c7a4f.jpg20200724_182435.thumb.jpg.312794d3133c47034f1bdce99d0d02ac.jpg20200724_182455.thumb.jpg.65fb644c2d9d6217faaf78b9915a5ca8.jpg20200724_182538.thumb.jpg.246527d933f7465136938646bb2b5f4f.jpg20200724_183803.thumb.jpg.9369b0319734fc2062fd8be743e1b41d.jpg20200724_183831.thumb.jpg.1241c45b444f8653f74ef89bfcdb40cc.jpg

The white is foam board , which I found to be stronger than cardboard and cheaper. I then wrap this is bubble wrap and place inside of box. The above example is for one card, but multiple cards can be used . Also of note, when I use an plain envelope I do not seal it , again for ease of opening.

Thanks for this :headbang: . Super helpful as I was looking for guidance as well for a first time submission... used to shipping comics no problem, cards on the other hand.

My understanding from these boards is there were about 75,000 copies printed of UF #4.  So it's basically 10 times more printed than Walking Dead #1.

uf4 sold 130k in North America for 2011

    https://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2011.html

but we don't know how many were sold during 2012 or how much more was still warehoused given there were numerous ordering incentives to unload printed stock. here you get a free 2nd print pichelli for every 1st or 2nd print bagley ordered.

    https://www.diamondcomics.com/Home/1/1/3/733?articleID=112249

and we also know the variant was part of a diamond variant sale thru various anecdotes on these boards, as well as distributed to discount retailer 5 and below for inclusion in its $5 comic packs.

this all lends itself to the conclusion (imo) that it was printed in signifcantly more quantities than what was sold.

that said, demand for it is insatiable

  8. also a big DCAU fan and love Batman Beyond... I would echo whats been said and jump in now vs later.

We're approaching a point soon where the rule of 25 kicks in and nostalgia creates another bump for these books.

I dont see these books dropping in price. maybe a dip of 5-20% but nothing drastic and nothing that wouldn't make it recoup and grow further ... just my 2 cents

I assumed that was it.  All 3 that I had an issue with are new comics with the 2/21 cover date.

    had a similar issue.

here's the workaround I was instructed to use by the wonderful customer service team 😊

for the date field, choose add new and use 12/20 as a proxy

you should be able to select modern tier

on your printed invoice, clearly cross out the incorrect date and write in the correct one.

it should be fixed upon receipt and initial processing

    hope this helps

It depends; how many cases did a “reliable source” tell you were printed, damaged, then subsequently destroyed or in personal collections only?

well there's at least 20 based on this diamond article 😆

    https://www.diamondcomics.com/Home/1/1/3/733?articleID=112249

but I vaguely recall reading somewhere on these boards that this was also distributed thru other means (convention handout or retailer event ??)

either way, tough book that I never see on ebay. kudos
