  1. I read a book about the first comic con in 1964 in NYC. In the appendix of the book were several price lists of dealers present. I believe AF15 was selling for 25$ then. As always I could be rembering wrong. However, if I'm remembering correctly and it was priced at 25$ then wasn't that a bit of money, point being it looks as if AF15 was pricey out of the gate
  2. When I first got back into the hobby (July 2016) this book was an inferno. I thought about getting one cause I love moon knight but held off as a bit of an expirement to see the realities/non realities of movie hype. I've looked at the GPA of the book but I was wondering if anyone's had real world convention experience on how this book is selling. Thanks.
  3. I'm fairly new to this but the AF15 8.0 that just sold for 261k on comic connect says "sale pending." Is this SOP or perhaps does it mean seller is going to bail. Like I said I know nothing.
  4. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question, Roy. (Twice even!) for some reason my above post had to be ok'd by a moderator and didn't post hence my pm to you
  5. Like the other poster asked: what were the troubles in acquiring page 2 you mentioned?
  6. Dark Knight Returns #1 cover OA Anybody know where it ended up. Did it ever make it to market?
  7. I have multiple copies of my DD Miller run completed in raw. I just like the new stands copies and thought it be fun to put a WP 9.8 CGC newstand run together. I've got em TPB too. Love the art and stories. Beginning to figure out how to get a piece of OA
  8. I don't understand you logic here, Roy. I know the history you're referring to but don't understand why it went for a " weak" price because of it.
  9. It's a Voldy acquisition for my DD Miller 9.8 newsstand run. It's 9.8 Voldy, duh! It's issue #184. Wanna be CGC. Lots of people are talking about my Miller 9.8 run. It's probably gonna be a pedigree collection.
  10. Should you just send it in the Voldy slab or is that in poor form, maybe sway the graders. Or just send it raw to keep it neutral?
  11. No. I remember it had to do with the cover. See the balls of white/blue light around Dazzler on the cover? These were various shades of lighter and darker or something like that. Probably just Joe from Joe's Books and Things (my LCS) getten' the kids excited about something.
  12. Seriously? You want the truth? Ok, here goes: in early 00s sold off my entire comic collection including the Dazzelers. Probably sold em for less then pennies. Here's the kicker, about four month ago (after rediscovering the hobby again in July 2016) bought a dazzeler 1 (again) for , I dunno, 8 or 10 bucks or 20 bucks. (It's high grade) You know just to have it cause those 50 copies were a big deal in my comic collecting youth. I worked in a comic shop getting paid in credit and that was the first direct only book, I think. I do remember putting stickers on the bags each book was in and writing down something about the color difference on each book, like there was a variation on the intesitites of color on front cover as if a printing mistake. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or was I just a crazy comic collecting kid?
  13. My brain hurts. What is it that you're wondering if you don't mind saying. ??
  14. Ok. Thanks. This book was graded on 5/7/17. I wonder if it was raw up to that point.
  15. Besides having an AF15 headache, I'm a bit confused about the format of this CL sale. It has a BIN of $280,000 but you can bid on it?
  16. BTW, the AF15 for 15$, are you sure? I read a book about the first comic con in 1964 in NYC and the book included some price lists and folks were selling AF15 there for 25$. Did anybody else read that book? Am I remember correctly?
  17. I forgot about Castle of Frankenstein. Did you know film director Joe Dante (Grenlims, Parina) wrote for COF as a kid.
  18. I'm curious what horror movie magazines were around in 1976? I know there was Famous Monsters but Fangoria and Starlog weren't around yet. Not my area of expertise but were there that many horror movie mags around in the mid 70s?
  19. In all seriousness Blob what's the contact info for your shop if you do mail order? Not seeing it on your profile.
  20. Are you saying the epic run I'm putting together will be essentially worthless? I'm this close to humping the button on you.
  21. I have 2 long boxes full of lower grade stuff. You're making me so angry right now I'm going to rip them all in half
