  1. What a wonderful memory! I grew up in the woods and there was a gravel pile up some road in the woods someone had built and abandoned in the 30s or 40s leading to nowhere. I would take copies of The Twilight Zone comic (Gold Key?) and Ripley's Believe It or Not comic (WEIRD! ERRIE! AUTHENTIC!) and read atop the gravel pile.
  2. Buy comic and: 1. Get away from as many people as possible so as to enjoy comic in silence without disruption. 2. After reading comic, remain away from as many people as possible as to enjoy silence without disruption.
  3. I’m not seeing any CGC witnesses yet. Starting to get nervous. About 6 people ahead of me.
  4. To those who have never met Grebal in person, he’s a good soul.
  5. It was a great Q & A! I’m standing in line for an autograph right now with a copy of Seth’s Palookaville #1. If a CGC witness could make their way over here so I can get a yellow label, that would be cool. I think I can get a 9.8. Skylight Books 1301 Vermont Ave Los Angeles. EDIT: I’m nearing the front of the line. Please hurry.
  6. If someone's flipping, I wonder the need to say, "It's for my private collection." Perhaps it's in hopes of getting a price break.
  7. Seth will be at Skylight Books in Los Angeles signing his Clyde Fans collected works. Vermont Ave in Los Feliz tonight Thursday May 2, 2019. 7:30pm. I bought it last nigh. Brilliant and lush. Slipcase, too. He started the Clyde Fans serial in Palookavile just about 25 years ago.
  8. That's what I thought, too. I posted my thoughts a while back and a couple of folks said, "No, this is different."
  9. This would be funny if it wasn't soooo true. It's kinda not funny. As i've said a bunch, I helped MLC set up at a con just to see what's it like from the other side of the table. It was eye opening and kinda depressing. Customers that is.
  10. Not to be nit picky, but my thought was that OP was attempting to shame MCS.
  11. Occasionally I think of books to speculate on, but I'm too apathetic to actually get them (Still can't find the energy to get that Rom #1. The rubber can't seem to meet the road as they say). Not sure what that makes me.
  12. thanks. Let me look at those. EDIT: just look those up. Yes, they were good. Hate reading the Omnibuses becuase of size, although love reading letters
  13. what's the best story or story arc in that ASM run? I'd like to read some good ASM stories. I've got the Omnibus' 1-3
  14. Thanks. Yes, that's correct. I've actually heard about the rarity of that one. I was hopping there was some obscure old toy that was impossible to find.
  15. copy. thanks. wonder if seriously good actors are just resigned to the fact that in this day and age that they've got to be in a comic book movie and act in front of a green screen for 9 months.
  16. I don't get the woody harrelson bit. I know the thread the bit originates from, but still don't get it. woody harrelson is gonna be in carnage?
  17. Hey toy folk. A question. What's the Holy Grail of all toys. Regardless if you collect GI Joe, Transformers, this or that. What's the pinnacle of toy that would put you on easy street, Board Walk and Parkplace?
  18. I commend you for actually reading comics. I liked your reviews, although a little short and not very in-depth for me. I'm not familiar with new comics so I can't follow along too good thus I'm sure your reviews aren't aimed at folks like me, but again, I commend you for actually reading comics on a website about speculation (yawn). Keep plowing ahead but perhaps try to speak at greater length.
  19. Generally speaking you don't find people in life much anymore that think that far down the road.
  20. Has anybody experienced this?: A dealer that kinds of pleads with you to buy something from him. Kinda the "throw me a bone" spiel. Only happened to me at cons/flea markets. No bigger dealers. No dealers here. It's just kinda a weird situation. Happened with an Avengers 181 (is that an Antman issue semi key?) at this collectable flea market here in Southern California called Frank & Sons. (Never had much luck there with back issues). It was kinda like an ugly girl asking you to go to prom with them or that Dinosaur Jr. song with the lyrics, I feel the pain of everyone. I try to help people when I can. Don't know why, this guy probably would have ripped me off if I tried to sell him an Avengers #181. Anyways, I bought it from him. Threw him a bone, I guess. Forgot what I paid. Speaking of which I should keep a detailed log of what I paid for what and when and from whom. As my journalism teacher told me once, "another opportunity lost, dude."
