Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
kevhtx replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Coins you cant spend, stamps you cant use, shoes you cant wear, toys you dont open.....there are tons of examples. At some point, some items turn into collectibles where their use isn't valued anymore over just the ownership. Comics are not unique in that regard. I'm not surprised other s*** like video game manuals are starting to see value. I'm just surprised it wasn't sooner. I won't collect them, but someone will. -

People spend thousands on coins they cant spend (or wont spend), shoes they will never wear, stamps they will never use, comics they cant read, and so on and so on. People collect stuff. BFD. -
Modern Star Wars Comics that are heating up

Yeah, I hope they dont overly complicate the gameplay/controls. Keeping similar to the original and just updating graphics/modernizing would be what the fans want. -

This made my week. So excited to revisit this classic. Ive been thinking of playing this again, but cringed at the thought of the old graphics. I didnt even think of them doing a remake. Damn, I cant wait. If this does well, maybe they will remake #2 and then make some new ones. -

Its funny because recently Ive admired that Ant Man cover as Ive become more and more of a Frison fan. Ive collected her WW covers for a long time now, but Ive almost pulled the trigger and paid current rates for the Ant Man cover. Glad I didnt and just dug through my boxes. I was shocked when I found it in there. Im sure it was an FOC cover purchase that I just forgot about. I never purchased Ant Man books. -

Haha, yeah, they are definitely heavy on the female characters. They are definitely going to need more than Miles and dare I say it, some young whiteys too. I like the diverse representation for sure. -

Some randoms I found digging in my own boxes. Didnt know I had these. Love finding stuff that I didnt know I had. The Marvel Boy #1 was LITERALLY being used as a backing board by another comic. I didn't buy that. I guess an LCS just used it as a backing board for the ASM book that was in the bag. Haha. Glad I saw it on the back when flipping through my books. -

I have some #1's, but picked up a few RiRi and Shuri spec books in back issue bins in local comic shops past 2 weeks.... (these all need a press, Black Panther #7 has 1 maybe 2 color breaking ticks, Ive passed up that book 4 or 5 times in past year due to color breaking ticks, but finally pulled the trigger on this one) (the legacy #1's were from their site) (back issue bins. I was looking for Klaw's #1 Hans variant, but couldn't find it anywhere. Didn't want to pay ebay prices, but might have to if I actually want the book) -

Yeah, I still made money on it and generally dont regret sales, but this one, I should not have sold. I followed my formula and made a little, but DAMN. -

Of course, I sold my UF4 Djurdjevic CGC 9.6 SS a couple years back for like $750 so....FML. I don't regret any sales except this one. -

Hasbro has Miles as a figure in the Spider-man line. Hmm. Interesting. -

I havent been paying attention , but has there been any chatter about casting news? I would think we would have heard a rumor of casting if so. But, maybe I missed it. Also, is Donald Glover making a cameo in this? -

Got my books the other day from the Tynion signing. My 9.8 percentage has been probably 75-80% lately for modern submissions. 16 of 16 9.8's for the in-house signing/grading. I must be getting better. -

I could have sworn in the past Ive pre-ordered from DCBS (or maybe midtown) and it lets you pick which FBCD books you want along with your order. Maybe Im thinking of something else, but Ive ordered them in the past for free with an order somewhere. -

Im a hobby writer (never had anything optioned...yet). Yes, they are temporary, but definitely can be extended if the creator accepts it. Basically, they'll get paid again. Lots of reasons why a studio wants to do a project but it goes past the option period before development starts. -

They can pay to extend it too potentially. Just depends on the contract and what the creator accepts. -

I loved God Country. I have every issue CGC 9.8 SS by Cates. Multiples of some including #1. I know I have at least 1 A and B along with the Image 25th anniversary #1 from that box set too. It was a great series and if done right, will be a great movie. Ill sell closer to release probably . Either trailer release or first weekend of release maybe. -

I think this hits the nail on the head. I dont think stimulus and unemployment were huge drivers for this boom (contributed a bit sure). Im going on vacation in a couple weeks too. People are finally getting out, kids getting out of school, and weather is starting to be nicer in most places so focus is just changing a bit. -

I bought a ton of these. They were cheap and I used them for signatures. Sold a bunch, but I think I still have a few raws. I love Pickle Rick. -

FYI - Not sure if this is new news, but Charles Soule said on twitter the other day that Curse Words was optioned. Thats another that I have a few #1s. I read the first couple and it was a clever series. I liked it, but as usual, didnt find the time to keep reading it. Might be a good spec at cover price.
