  1. Top row of this picture were actually ones I found in my own short boxes (that I didnt know I had). So, not "technically" additions to my collection, but finds. The Nova #1 was an ebay purchase (I think I paid $14). The Champions were from Midtown Comics. All are clean NM or better copies. I think Midtown still has the Champions #1 on their site for $10... All of these are from a local LCS ($6-8 each). 2, 4, & 5 are NM or better. #6 was labeled as NM-, but I dont really see any significant issues. No spine ticks and spines stress isnt bad. Maybe a press will help.. The IM 12 were FOC purchases that finally came in. TFAW. Im always worried with TFAW since some times hot books just never get sent after you pre-order. Thankfully, these did and all look NM+ or better. The Mace Windu is one that Ive been trying to buy for a year or so now. I just never could find the right book/condition for the right price. This one looked NM+ or better on the auction and I paid $180 for it. I think the price has fallen a bit on it recently, but I do think she is going to be in a live action show or movie at some point. The Nova was same has previous picture. Didnt realize I had already taken a picture. haha.... Some Venom purchases from a local LCS. I'm sending these off to get Cates/Stegman to sign for the CGC in-house signing and I didn't have any Venom covers other than a few #1's. These weren't necessarily great buys, but I like to support my local LCS's...
  2. I rarely buy from Mile High, but you can sometimes find decent pricing (if you beat the spec lists). Obviously you have to use their 50% or 60% off coupons to get even close to market prices. I added 2 UF4 second prints and the Pichelli 2nd print to my collection (those were on their ebay store). I have one of each at CGC right now. I think I might send these to Baltimore for Bendis to sign (if he doesn't cancel). I don't usually buy stuff after seeing it on spec lists (I try to have it before they hit the lists), but I didnt have that Robinson Nebula cover and love it. I grabbed the A cover too. The Mile High website had not adjusted ("raised") the prices when I purchased... Prices I paid: Ultimate Fallout 4 2nd Print Bagley $160 each (they still have these on ebay). Ultimate Fallout 4 2nd Print Pichelli $120 (still on ebay) The prices dipped recently so I think its a good time to buy in on Miles. All three of these look NM+ at least. No spine ticks, no rub. Fingers crossed. US Avengers #1 Stegman was $40 (looks NM+ or better too). The picture looks like it has a spine tick, but that's glare thankfully. The Nebula #1 A was $15 and the ratio (I think its a 1:25?) was $50. Both look NM+ or better. The ratio has a little spine stress, but no ticks. A press might get it to 9.8, but well see. Sending this to Baltimore to get Robinson to sign it. Those prices are right around market (Cover A goes a little higher now). I know a lot of people on Mile High, but the times Ive bought from them, I get good copies. You just have to be careful on their prices. Most of the time, they are way over market even with their coupon. I think these are my first purchase from them in a couple years.
  3. I went to a couple more half-price books. One was waaaaay too organized. They had nothing of interest. The guy told me that they have a vendor that buys most of their books. I won't be going back to that one. At another, I found the following (all were half of cover). Nothing real significant, but added to my Walking Dead and some future character spec... The top row of this picture was from a LCS. $15 for the WW ratio. Cover price for the Kang's. The bottom row was two more half-priced books finds (they had a few very recent books)...
  4. I have 2 or 3 of the trade dress ordered before FOC and also 3 of the virgin covers from Forbidden Planet. Cant wait to get them. Such a great cover. Hughes has been on fire recently.
  5. Im kicking myself for not picking this up (saw it in the HPB bin, but forgot to grab it)....I didn't recognize it.....Maybe Ill go back tomorrow and see if its still there.
  6. Got a few books at half-priced books. Decent for $10. The guy there said they send most of their good books to other vendors. Any tips for HPB shopping?
  7. Yes, I would take the Champions 22 2nd print over the 1:1000. Absolutely. It's a hold for a bit, but I think will utlimately be worth more than the spider-man book.
  8. I bought about 10 packs. Got this one.... My brother bought 2 packs and this was one of them (lucky B)....
  9. Cover A is soooooo much better than the 1:25. I grabbed a few cover A's. I just couldn't get myself to spend the money on the 1:25. I may be kicking myself one day, but A was fine for me.
  10. Haha, no Im not going. I got a bunch of things signed by him a few years ago. I do have a Saga #2, 3, and 4 that are 9,6 that I might crack out and get signed/regraded. I dont know.
  11. I saw that BKV is going to be at NYCC this year. Good opportunity for signatures.
  12. Yeah, I had the original some time back, but sold it.... And of course, I had this one too....sold it, but bought the foil one and got it signed just to relieve the pain of selling the original....
  13. I bought some of the foils to flip. Already sold some. The ones that are worth it are the Batman: Harley Quinn Ross cover, Batman 608 2nd print, Batman 608 RRP, and some of the delg'otto ones. The exclusive foils sell pretty good. I've sold a few so far. I am Batman #0 foil especially. I bought a few to keep in my PC, but most of those, I bought to flip.
  14. I missed it on Friday, but it was right up front. Maybe they weren't there all weekend? I don't know. You can find them online. Search for iamparodyart com. I bought the boba and this batman one as well (they had buy two get one free basically)....
  15. Here are some pick ups. I also sent 50 books off either after being signed or for signing. Shuri/Maestro spec. I was surprised that Dark Avengers was only $5. Looked NM+ to me. Department of Truth #2 1:25 was a good deal at $150 (they wanted $175). Last Padawan was $150 as well (probably should have tried lower price, was $175 as well). Both had no spine issues. I have 2 other Last Padawan #1's already. Thought this one was a good chance for grade bump. Scott's did a great job with the VIP event (even though Tynion and the artists cancelled). I bought multiple of Something's Killing the Children and Department of Truth books. Sent off a bunch of my books to get signed. They said the books may get signed at NYCC or at least Thought Bubble in November. Fingers crossed.
  16. Yeah, I liked the variant and since it was Tynion, figured I'd pull the trigger. Not sure if there's been any option news on it or anything.
  17. I got a kick out of these bathroom pictures. I bought the Vader one for my bathroom. They had a bunch of others too. Funny concept. Thought it was weird at first, but framed and in a bathroom would be kinda cool.
  18. Yeah, I really like DoT as well. I'm behind though. Need to catch up on some issues. Yeah, I had wanted this 1:25 cover for a while. It is disturbing, but its first appearance of the star-faced man. Prices were just too high. When I was at the con today, saw this 9.6 for $175 and offered him $150. Decent deal since one sold last month on ebay for $300. DoT prices have dipped so its a good time to buy in anticipation of the show/movie. This one has no spine ticks and Im sending books for Tynion to sign soon. Perfect opportunity for a grade bump. Only issue I see on it is a little white around one of the staples on back. I haven't read Wynd. It is another Tynion book and I heard its good. I liked that variant cover of #1 and they had cover A for $5 so I grabbed it up too. Might send both of these off for signing.
  19. Had fun at Fan Expo Dallas. Great to be back at a con again. Wish I could go to Baltimore and/or NY. I spent a lot on the Tynion packages (Something's Killing the Children/Department of Truth) and signatures from Cates, Higgins, and Ramos. Got some Radiant Black #1's, Ordinary God's #1's, Champion's #1's, God Country #1's, and a bunch of other books signed/sent off to CGC. Tynion, Dell'Edera, and Simmonds cancelled, but Scott's is getting all my Something's Killing the Children and Department of Truth books signed at either NYCC or at Thought Bubble in November. Got some Shuri spec (made a deal on multiple books from a vendor. All high grade, NM+ or better candidates. Got first appearance of Maestro/first cover appearance, which has been on my target list, for $30 total. Made a deal on the Department of Truth #2 1:25 for $150. Gonna crack it and send to get signed/graded. Potential 9.8, but there is one place at the staples that could keep it at 9.6. The Last Padawan is a potential 9.8 as well. Got it for $150. Bought some Fan Expo exclusive foils as well. My wallet hurts from the weekend.
  20. I echo this. I went Friday and today. I drove over there yesterday about noon, but wow, it was so crowded that I couldn't find parking. Glad to see it so crowded. Great job all around. I had great biz with some wonderful booths. Scott's Collectables was wonderful as usual and Comic Sketch Art (Doug) was great too. Can't wait until next year.
  21. Yep, I've done business with Scott's for years. They are legit and one of the best in the biz. One reason I was really looking forward to these events. I have the utmost respect for that company. Ill buy the books and most likely send off for sigs. I think Tynion is supposed to attend a con they are attending in the next couple months anyway. From a local, @Kevin Boyd I love having them do events at Fan Expo and hope you guys get them back for next year and years to come. Too bad this one fell through.
  22. Yeah, just got the email from Fan Expo. Looks like they aren't appearing, but we can still buy the exclusive books from the booth since we had reservations for it. Damn.
  23. Just got automatic refunds on my SiKtC and DoT events....I guess it got cancelled?
