  1. Yes, I have some GA superman books that I would like signed.
  2. My guess given the clues that Kevin has given us. We will go "insane" over who it is Never been at any of his shows Hinting at "alternative facts" US President Donald Trump will be coming to Fan Expo Dallas
  3. Ill get my alternative books ready then. For Kirby, CGC will need to add Mediums to their SS crew.
  4. Ive had sketches requested in advance of a show and had a witness with me when I picked up from the artist. That should work here too I would think unless there is some sort of restriction against it.
  5. Probably a better chance Jack Kirby will be there than Ditko.
  6. Do you know where the CGC booth is located? Will it be easy for witnesses to get to the comic artist floor/celebs and so on?
  7. I saw they were on the schedule. I tried to watch that show, but after a couple episodes, gave up. Seemed to "romance novely". Does it get better and worth continuing to watch?
  8. Another question. If I bring a CGC SS book, how does that work with the witnesses? Do they de-slab and then take it to the line with me? Just trying to decide if I want to bring a few that I already have slabbed.
  9. Any advice on which booths to go by first for best exclusives? Since I get there Friday, I am hoping that I won't miss out on some of the best stuff.
  10. Very cool. Im getting there Friday mid-day and Im planning to go by the CGC booth one of first things I do. Thanks!!
  11. If I can't CGC, I won't want to get sigs. I already have their signatures on things that are graded. Ill focus my attention on others. How hard is it to get CGC witnesses for most artists and for combo sigs (non-big names like Kirkman and so on)? Obviously Stan and Rob are handled by Anastasia. And how hard is it for celebs like Bernthal and co? Just wondering based on anyones previous experience.
  12. So I am starting my planning for books to get signed. Ive been to numerous cons, but for big name creators, I have only stood in lines for McFarlane, Frank Miller, Liefeld and Stan Lee. At ECCC do most artists generally limit the number of books you can get signed to 1 or 2? I know in Dallas, Miller and McFarlane were ticketed and you could only get one book signed. Stan Lee in Dallas and Liefeld in LA both did not seem to have a limit as long as you were willing to pay the price. So far, the most amount of books that I have 5-10 are for Soule, Lemire, Dodson's, Wagner and Middleton. I know these are not huge names, but if anyone knows about limits for them, I will use a facilitator for some of my books for them. If McFarlane and Kirkman are there, I might try to get 1 or 2 signed by them depending on if its ticketed. They are definitely short on big name creators so far.
  13. Good point. I always bring my sharpies for him. I love his signature in blue and usually lean towards that color on most of my books. On dark covers, I usually go gold and just occasionally silver.
  14. He is spotty with his signature. Key is to get to him early when he just starts signing. I got 9 books signed by him a few weeks ago. I was one of the first in line, I window boxed exactly where I wanted him to sign and they look really really good. If you window box where you want and make it a tight spot, but enough room, he seems to concentrate on it more. I do have a couple other books where his signature is sloppy (I hate his signature in silver sharpie).
  15. I have a little different opinion. I will get the writer/artists but also a creator of the main characters in the book. In this case, Stan created Hulk, so I don't see a problem with it. But, for example, I have an X-men 266 (first app of gambit), but will not get him to sign it. Even though he created X-men, he did not create gambit. Just my feeling I guess. I have a Hulk 181 as well. I don't have any signatures on that book yet. I don't know if I want to get it signed. There are just no good places imo. The title at the top is really the best place. If I get it signed, ill get Wein, Thomas and/or Romita Sr. since they created Wolverine and thats the main reason the book is valuable. There just isn't much room on that cover for signatures. If a cover is really busy and a signature will detract, I do not get it signed. Just the way I do things.
  16. That will look sweet. I love gold. I absolutely hate silver sharpie. Im planning to do gold on all of mine too.
  17. Awesome. My fave cover artist and one of top I like of his. Beautiful and great grade. I have a 9.6/9.8 potential raw I am about to get signed and graded. Fingers crossed.
  18. Obviously the ASM14 is not back from CGC, but the other 3 are. ASM 1 grade didn't change. The other 2 were raw and went to CCS first. I was hoping for about a half a grade higher on both of those, but these are good.
  19. But you aren't buying a grade. You are buying his signature and getting the book graded. Hopefully you get something good. If not, market will take care of itself and people won't get that option and word will get around. Same problem exists for non-graded books he does now. We could get mess books that wouldn't grade well just as easy. I can understand a facilitator guaranteeing a grade. We are paying them to look for a great book for us, get it signed and submit. Thats what we are paying for. For him, we would be paying for his autograph and for him to submit that book to CGC.
  20. I think its possible, but what grade are you paying for? Does he know how to grade, do his people? Does he have to pay someone to screen? What if you don't get the grade you pay for? What if its two grades lower? What if its higher? How careful does he and his staff have to be if you're sending them off for grading? How much more time does it take being that careful in terms of handling the comics AND packing the comics? How much more paperwork is there to fill out? IS it really worth it? Would you want to deal with it all if you were an artist or even a rep? I'd rather sell unsigned copies and have fans come talk to me at shows or have dscott put a stack in front of me for $10-$20 per sig (and I don't have to do anymore paperwork). But he doesn't have to guarantee a grade. If I order from him and I get a grade, then I won't order again. It would all come down to the premium. In my case, I don't pay him more for his signature because its not graded. IF he did it, then I would pay his signature fee and also a premium to have it graded.
  21. Ah, I didn't realize that. I didn't know they could send them in themselves. That would be even easier. He could even ask us to fill out the form on his website.
  22. I think it would be a good idea. He would charge a premium and make a little more money. It would depend on relationship with facilitator yes, but I know personally, I would buy signed items from his site if he would CGC them. I do not now. I would pay a little more too. So, he loses some business on signed items due to it. Maybe DScott, Rich or someone could ask him about it.
  23. Yes, Im gonna send my books to him instead. I calc'd it and its a little cheaper to go through him, plus I don't have to send books to UK myself. He doesn't have a lot of spots left. Once he confirms for me, ill cancel mine with Scott's collectibles
  24. And just like that, I grabbed a NM Original Sin 7 off eBay. Ive been wanting it lately. Especially with all these great Gamora covers coming out.
