  1. I think all shows seem to have this issue. Even ECCC which is before FE Dallas this year has complaints about the enterainment/comic guests.

And, when I went to LA Comic Con in Oct, I had a VIP pass. They didn't tell us who our exclusive signings were with or times until the day before (besides Stan). That made it near impossible to prepare what you wanted signed.

I don't think its just marketing departments don't understand either. I think thats part of it, but I know there are contract reasons, schedules and some "strategy" going on. Whether its good strategy or not, who knows for sure. FE Dallas was great last year, so Ill give them the benefit of the doubt. I hope this years show is equally as good or better.

  2. Kevin Boyd, any update on guest announcements? or when they will be announced?

A lot of us are preparing for upcoming conventions and knowing the guests helps us decide to pay for admission to Fan Expo or go ahead and send the books to facilitators for other shows. Jan/Feb/Mar are already extremely packed for good shows (WWNO, Fan2Sea, NTX comic show, Dallas Comic Show, ECCC and others).

Facilitator deadlines for WWNO and Fan2Sea are already almost here.

  3. Amazing Spider-man #14 CGC SS 6.0 Stan Lee

This was my first book I got signed and I am partial to it. Love the sig placement and color. I got to chat with Stan briefly about this one. Ill miss it. ;)

Amazing Spider-man #14 CGC SS 8.5 Stan Lee

BEAUTFUL cover. I am looking to upgrade my ASM 14 to over 9.0. So, looking to sell if price is right.

Amazing Spider-man #129 CGC SS 8.5 Stan Lee, John Romita Slight Cover Color Touch

This book can definitely benefit from a press and hopefully can have color touch removed. I bought like this.

Fantastic Four #46 CGC SS 7.5 Stan Lee, Joe Sinnott

This one as well can benefit from a press. I did not press before sending to CGC. I believe its 8.0+, but thats my opinion.

Luke Cage Hero for Hire #1 CGC SS 7.5 Stan Lee, John Romita

Like the others, I believe a press can help this one get to 8.0+.

Batman Rebirth #1 SDCC Foil CGC SS 9.0 signed by King , Finch, Jim Lee

Tom King signature was already on this when I got it. Again, a press could probably help this to remove finger prints or rippling.

Reborn #1 Capullo Variant CGC SS 9.8 Signed Capullo and Glapion

Reborn #1 Jock Variant CGC SS 9.8 Signed Capullo and Glapion

Reborn #1 Capullo Sketch Variant CGC SS 9.8 Signed Capullo and Glapion

The Walking Dead: 100 Negan Cover CGC SS 9.6 Signed Kirkman, Moore

The Walking Dead: 108 First Ezekiel CGC SS 9.8 Signed Kirkman, Moore

I can provide images of any of these. Just let me know.

  4. Star-Lord #1 (Zdarsky variant) s/s Anka - $135

(Will try to get Zdarsky on this too---looking at convention schedule now)

**(Currently only one copy available for this particular book, but looking for more and will start a wait list if neccessary)

    Ill :takeit:

Those Aquaman covers rock. 15 is gonna look good too if the art is correct. If I wasn't going to ECCC, I would be hitting you up for multiple of these.

  5. New dates in the Spring on Memorial Day weekend. Now only two weeks after Comicpalooza (assuming they don't follow the trend of moving earlier in the year too!) and much closer to Fan Expo. Not sure who'll have money left for ACCC.

Not digging this new trend of big Texas shows radically changing their dates on the fly...

Ditto. Im spending a lot for Dallas Comic Show and Hughes in Feb. Then, Im going to ECCC early March. I was planning to buy a VIP pass for Fan Expo Dallas, but might not be able to afford it now. They havent announced guests yet.

If it were in the summer, the coffers would have been replenished. ;)

  6. They say non transferable but I'm not sure how that is going to be done. They are mailing out tickets starting in late January. No names will be on the tickets as names are not requested when purchasing. So there was never any name attached to a ticket in the first place! I've seen some sold on Ebay already and I imagine as the event gets closer more will start popping up.

I just purchased a plane ticket, hotel and friday/sunday tickets. Im hoping to do the same with stub hub for saturday ticket. It does say they will be checking photo id though. So, I don't know. Maybe someone who has been before can confirm? At least past experience.

  7. I agree that they seem to drop the comic guests all at once. So, I am not too worried about that. I am curious as to the media guests. Im surprised we haven't seen more yet. Next month will be key. Sounds like thats when we will get announcements.

Its important to know asap since many of us prepare for cons months in advance and make plans on purchases, who to send books to for which cons and so on. I am already making plans for spring/summer.

If I know a creator or media guest is going to be in town, I won't send out the books I want signed to a facilitator.

  8. May we ask why some celeb announcements can be made now, but the comic announcements apparently have to wait until January?

Even if its just a "tentatively planned" comic guest announcement. Im waiting to spend money on your VIP pass depending on who it is. ;)

We all understand that things can change, people can cancel. Happens all the time at all the cons.
