  1. Side note. The seller did have thin pieces of foam between the back/box and front/box. So it wasn't packed bad. Only thing I would think is that it should have been a bigger box and more packing peanuts, but I would have thought this packing was secure.

  2. This came from a seller, but it make me rethink all the times I check "USPS" on CGC form. They really don't give a s***.

This branch is a good example of the ineptitude of the USPS. I was there the other day and there was no one behind the counter and a line of 10 people or so. Someone in line had to ask someone to come out and help us.

  3. Yeah, I sent the info the them a bit ago.

I don't know how insurance would work in this case. I did pick it up from the USPS. When I picked up the box, it looked fine, but alas, I didn't look at the back. I was hurrying to get to work. The box felt sturdy and secure.

All that said, it does look like it affected the comic, but not sure if a press could knock that out. You can tell from the back cover, it rippled a bit. Hard to tell from the front cover.

I dont want to crack it open obviously, so I don't know the extent of the damage.

  4. I am going to start a waiting list for anyone else that would like a copy. Please let me know in this thread if you are definitely interested in purchasing a copy. I will prescreen additional copies tomorrow to determine if and how many additional spots I am comfortable offering.

    Waiting List

    1. Via PM

    2. Via PM

    Add me to waiting list?

  5. THOSE ARE PRETTY SAHWEET!!

I especially like the bubble gum Harley's --- they seem original

Also the Suicide Squad on the "ride" is pretty cool--------Congrat's---they took care of them pretty well not all 9.8's but 9.6's with a sketch is not too bad

    :preach:

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same on those. Beautiful.

  6. I used them once at Fan Expo Dallas and it seemed fine. I filled out the CGC form myself and got a carbon copy. That was before I had a CGC account. Do they not allow us to submit under our own account?

Then, it took about 3-4 months to get back my ASM14. That does seem like a long amount of time for a book that should have been Standard tier.

Im going to LA Comic Con this weekend and taking some expensive books to get signed. Most are standard tier with a couple economy tier books. I have the VIP pass and supposedly an exclusive signing session with him, but Im a bit worried after reading this thread (one of my books is an ASM1  ).

Anyone have advice? Should I use a facilitator from the boards instead (for RI Con maybe?).

  7. My Walking Dead books seem to be finally flying off the shelves. Just sold a Walking Dead 108 CGC 9.8 that has sat for awhile. Glad I took the other 3 copies off before the show last night (put one other up as an auction to test the new price point) since it looks like the 9.8 are on their way to the $150 range based on the sales this weekend.

    Walking Dead 108

    Walking Dead 56 - 58

    Walking Dead 83 - 85

I had a NM/M 108 copy signed by Moore and Kirkman....should have it back from CGC in 2-3 weeks. Hoping that the market will be good for it at that time!

  8. If anyone is selling, I'm putting a full run together for pc. LMK.

Keep an eye out on eBay as there are still decent deals to be found in runs/lots of this title. I did not really need it, but I figured that this lot was worth a gamble today:

It has 70 (all red cover) and 74 (mirror cover) in it. Those two will basically cover your cost right there. Yes the person cherry picked out a few big $$ covers, but missed a few also. I think a few more of these could pop given time. I am surprised one or two of the Zatana covers have not, and there are a few more hard black covers in the run.

I think this run is just going to get hotter with time.

Wonder Woman, too. Plus the Bolland Wonder Woman run. Some amazing covers...and some just as oddball/eyebrow-raising as the powerless era's SM covers...

The Catwoman run is better known and getting a lot of attention right now. What books from the Wonder Woman run are the ones to watch? Besides 184.

    I love 184, but I also like 166, 172 and 188.

  9. Good points/suggestions.

June was my first Fan Expo Dallas and I thought it went pretty well, although I'm not fond of the layout of that convention center (programming rooms are miles away from the show floor), I've not been to an Irving show yet, so I can't comment on it.

I got a lot of steps in for those 3 days. Yes, they are far apart and its also hard to find some rooms. Overall, I really enjoyed it and thought it went well.

  10. We got a tremendous head start on the year and should have a strong list of comic guests for Dallas on the new dates. It's already looking really good, not that the 2016 list wasn't actually pretty rock solid with Lee, Miller, McFarlane, Ramos, Slott, Andy Kubert and J. Scott Campbell.

    Any hints for us? ;)

  11. It seems weird to celebrate something they don't want.

If the owner passed away I'd find it interesting.

I think in 2002 he was more or less compelled to sell his entire collection of comic books and cars due to huge debts, or something like that. I think he is back into collecting now though.

    Are YOU Nick Cage? hm

  12. Wow, this is one beautiful copy! Congrats!

Thanks! I sent in a ASM #14 that had been slabbed 6.0 and after getting it signed by Stan Lee, it came back slabbed 6.5. A couple other books I had signed, re-slabbed went up too. I had a lucky run.

I have this one, a DD #1, another ASM #14 and a few others I am hoping follows that pattern after I get them signed. :)
