  1. While Harley is the huge draw, the other female characters are generating buzz as well. I saw some cool Enchantress costumes (one that even had enough dangling stuff to make a jingly sound similar to the movie as the woman walked around) at the Edmonton Expo a week and a half back, and there were a few girls dressed as Katana as well. It will be interesting to see how this holds going forward with the lesser two characters. WRT appeal, I think the fact that Harley appeals to females for the same reason that Deadpool does to males - both characters are strong but also get ahead by behaving bad. Strong but imperfect and not impossible paragons of goodness and virtue like Wonder Woman, yep. I love Catwoman in Batman: The Animated Series and my heart pretty much just broke for Harley Quinn in the episode Mad Love. Rewatching Batman:TAS as an adult, I'm actually kinda amazed at some of the adult themes it contains. Why are a lot of modern cartoons so dumbed down? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch Suicide Squad in theaters since I just had an operation (already bought tickets but ended up giving them to my mom) so I'll just have to wait for my 4K Blu-ray preorder from Amazon. , double-dipping this title and have the Best Buy steelbook preordered, too.
  2. Honestly, with so many account credentials and passwords getting stolen of late (wasn't there recent news re: 500 million accounts on Yahoo?) and with so many people using the same password on different websites, this excuse is actually believable. If the ebay user was an individual who had no history of ever buying comics, that's what I'd assume happened. Given it's a comic seller, obviously a case of buyer's remorse.
  3. Hi all. I'm a fairly recent collector and (I'm afraid I'm gonna get lynched here) have only started collecting select floppies/monthlies thanks to the MCU movies and Marvel Unlimited. I don't think my collection of individual print issues will ever reach the thousands like a lot of you have here (I just don't have the space for it along with my anime and manga collection) but what I do have, I plan to enjoy. I loved watching 90s cartoons as a kid (Batman, X-Men, Spider-Man, Superman, etc) but comic collecting was just way beyond my meager allowance (wasn't a US resident back then and imports are expensive). The breadth of material also seems quite daunting. I've bought and enjoy watching DC Animated Universe direct-to-video movies but I wouldn't even know where to begin with DC comics and I expect even with Comixology sales, it would be quite an expensive endeavor to get all caught up, never mind sourcing and buying long out-of-print editions. I have bought a couple of DC TPBs (Justice League: Tower of Babel and The Death of Superman due to DCAU's Justice League: Doom and Superman: Doomsday) but the lack of a subscription service similar to Marvel Unlimited makes me hesitant to pick up DC titles. In the meantime, there's plenty of stuff I still haven't read on Marvel Unlimited and I'm looking forward to receiving my first non-manga Previews pre-order this November.
