  1. This was the #22 from the same lot, posting for reference on the page quality and CGC grade.
  2. The Spirit #21 Quality Comics 6/50 Raw 1st wins I will entertain reasonable offers through PM but trumps PM's Payment I will accept Paypal/check/money orders. Boxed Shipping via USPS First Class Mail is included, if you would like it shipped priority just pay the difference I will take returns within 7 days of the buyer receiving the book, buyer pays return shipping No HOSers or people on Probation: The Spirit #21 (Quality Comics, 6/50) - SOLD This book is complete, cover is fully attached at both staples, one centerfold is detached from the staples but centerfold is present and in good shape. Got this book as part of a lot a while back. The page quality is amazing for the age. Just had a copy of The Spirit #22 slabbed and it came back as a 5.0 with White pages. Not sure there is another copy with white pages in the registry but none of the registry copies on gpa had better than OW/W. This has similar page quality would guess no worse than OW/W. Can't say I'm spot on at grading the older books but I would put this around 3.0 to 3.5. This has never been pressed or cleaned. I didn't see any signs of restoration, but if you detect anything that I missed, I will take the book back within a reasonable amount of time. If you would like to see more pictures or know my ebay id just pm me and I will be happy to share.
  3. Avoid this place at all costs! Placed two orders with them: 1st order took over 2 months to get to me. It was partially filled with all the comics that I wanted, and which were hard to find, missing (I'll pick up new releases or easy to find back issues if I'm already paying for shipping). One of the comics wasn't even the one that I ordered and it was beat as could be. Never tried to contact me to tell me that the items were out of stock, never issued a refund for the comics they didn't ship. I emailed them, they said they would refund me for only the comics that didn't ship, never issued the refund. So they won't refund for books they never shipped, gave me a beat up comic I didn't order, took two months to ship and then made the cost of the comics shipped way too high with shipping (imagine ordering 10 comics, 2 of which were $1.99 comics, paying close to $10 for shipping, and then only receiving the 2 $1.99 comics and a FN modern comic you didn't order). 2nd order: I placed an order and immediately after paying realized that I left a comic I wanted out of the cart. I called them and asked if I could just buy the additional comic and have them include it with the first order to save on shipping. They said they cancelled the order and had me just replace the order, which I did. So there were 2 charges on my CC, 1 for the first order which was cancelled and 1 for the second correct order. Initially there was a charge back pending on my CC so I thought everything was fine. The charge back didn't post but both CC charges did. I emailed them and explained that the charge back never posted, no help at all. Had to deal with my CC company to get the first charge taken off of my card. Buyer beware. Not sure how they could stay in business but really an avoid at all costs seller.

  7. All 100's ASM's. Only major key was 129 and then some other quality issues like the 135, 136 etc. etc.. The top and bottom comics on the stack were probably in the VG range. Quality improved as you got closer to the middle of the stack both cover and pages. Since you can't really stack that many raw books perfectly, even the unread ones had some slight CB creases on the spine and some non-cb creasing along the right edge. Still surprised that some of these were in as nice of condition as they are considering the way they were stored.
  8. This is not a 9.4 even after a press. With the spine ticks and soft corners. I'd say at best a 9.0-9.2 after a pressing Thank you, corners were the biggest issue and if they won't improve much than your right on not getting to a 9.4
  9. Yup, that is correct. About 50 or so raw books, all stacked on top of each other un-bagged and un-boarded. Comics on top and bottom were really beat. Comics in middle were 8.0-9.0 estimate. The 129 and 135 were thankfully in the middle and both were unread but had some small defects because of the stacking.
  10. Pretty suer the wear to Punisher/Impressions on back is the ink from the inside part of the cover showing through the white on Punisher's chest/back cover. Maybe because I scanned this book with microchamber paper inside the front and back cover? Or possibly my scanner is garbage since the light on the scanner is so bright it looks like a UFO is trying to abduct something when it is scanning. I agree this is an underrated book, which is why I need this book in a 9.6 (not literally but collectors want list need). Since this was included in a large lot that I bought for an ASM 129, this is an added bonus. A 9.4 would satisfy that wish list need. To sell raw and buy a 9.6 or give this a shot at getting a 9.4? Decisions......
  11. Thanks, I have no clue on the second question myself. If it could potentially get to a 9.4 it would be worth it. Not sure what I could expect, was curious on opinions from people that might have experience.
  12. Please grade my Amazing Spider-Man 135. Book is unread condition with quality pages. Writing on back is in pencil. Looking for two opinions: 1. Grade as is; and 2. Estimate of max grade with a good cleaning/press Thanks in advance, all opinions are always appreciated. * the white along the bottom right edge front cover/top left edge back cover are microchamber paper
  13. No problem, I appreciate when others post as well, just returning the favor. Regarding my original estimate of 9.0/9.2, I posted that back in October, my grading skills have definitely gotten better since then, thanks in part to this message board. I definitely over-graded a little, the color break was a little to much to get into that 9.0 range, but this is a very nice looking book in person.
  14. Got this back a few weeks ago, love this cover presents nicely in the CGC holder
  15. 4.5 was exactly what I was thinking. This book needs to be put between a few encyclopedias to smooth it out.
  16. PGM Spirit #22 - there is a 1/4 inch tear bottom of the front cover (does not affect interior pages); a 1 inch tear top back cover and a 1/8 inch tear top left side of cover (they do not affect interior pages. Book is complete, completely attached to the staples and no rust. Has amazing page quality for the age of the book with off white to white pages. Thanks in advance. I got a Spirit 21 with this book as well, will be posting a new post for that one. Very nice looking 5.0 and with White Pages, Very happy with the grade.
  17. Thanks for all the opinions, will post the grade when I get this comic graded.
  18. Not sure but have been given the impression that manufacturer's defects count very little in lowering the grade as long as it is nothing major. I personally don't consider the perforations in older books to be a major defect, relatively common in pre 1980's books.
  19. It looks more like a color breaking crease that got dirty? The back cover shot of that corner adds to my assumption. I took a closer look at it and there is definitely dirt (some more can be seen halfway up the front right edge). I really can't tell one way or the other if there is also some color break. There is a small crease right above the dirt/crease which is hard to see in the scans. This book has some abnormal non-color breaking creases along the front right/back left edge. The original owner had this book in the middle of a pile of ASM's stacked on top of each other in only bags with no backs. The books weren't neatly stacked leading to some pressure being applied to either the spine or the right edge of various books. Such a shame this wasn't properly preserved, would have been a much nicer book. At least it has a good home now.
  20. Thanks, was thinking 7.5/8.0 with it in hand with some room for improvement if cleaned/pressed
  21. PGM Amazing Spider-man 129 The small crease bottom from right corner is not color breaking but rather dirt. Very small 1/18 (maybe smaller) tear by top staple on front cover, very light spine creases (can't tell if they color break as the wrap to back cover is white, if color break then very small/minimal) Date on back cover is in pencil. Pages are W to OW with no tears but manufacturer's defect of several pages with the perforation holes at the bottom. Thank you in advance. Close to where everyone was guessing. 8.0 was what I was expected. No complaints with the pages coming back as White. Presents well in person.
  22. Superzar, I looked at the images again and you appear to be correct. That one was my mistake. After I got the first comic and messaged him, and then he turned into a werewolf man in his reply, I took a closer look at his listing, it just didn't add up. A quick search on his buyer rating led to easily matching up 10 comics he bought and then flipped using his BS story. I documented them and called ebay to report him. Their response was that since he was selling the comic listed their was nothing they could do. I got back alot of my money and in my frustration with eBay not caring, I threw away the paper. Matched these up real quick today. Thought I would post about him here since my second case against him, for never even mailing a comic I bought a month ago, finally closed in my favor. Looks like his account got suspended finally. He had about 30 listing that got taken down. I'm sure that xmen 129 was probably listed as original owner never read super high grade somewhere in there. Guysaid like that ruin ebay for buyers and sellers alike. No need to lie in listing or hide defects. Guy is a real dbag. Still my bad on that xmen 129.
