Just because it was under $12! not a big fan of black panther, but I've never really read any either lol and from 1973, it's probably only collected in high grade and this is just a VG-to VG copy----- well you never know-- this day off before the con tomorrow, I thought that I'd try something new :) 1st in his own title

    Eliza Dushku cancels.

I thought real hard about buying auto/photo-op with her, so I'm glad I opted out :) I got Jay and Silent Bob last year, and Eliza Dushku was in Jay and Silent Bob strikes back. I also remembered her from a cameo in the big bang theory lol

A selection from today's mail, everything arrived at the same day, yay! :) Some random, a few appearances and a pile of Wolverine. Oh, and some Kool-Aid in the middle of What If Vol 2 nr 87 from 1996. How long is Kool-Aid usually safe for consumption?

This is the first time I've ever said this for real lol but

DON'T DRINK THE KOOL AID haha

At least my customers are loving the books that did get slabbed because they are flawless.  Even the slightest spine tick and it's downgraded to a 9.6.  Seems to me there is 10 and 9.9 grades for flawless books and 9.8 should be able to have 1 minor spine tick.

That's what I was thinking, but didn't have the eloquence to say it. It's like 9.8 is the top and they don't think that there is anything after that. This is the way it was last year IMO around this time during the "case scandal". I submitted around this time last year like 10 books and all of them came back 9.6 with no 9.8 and they all looked nice.

I got back my 182, came in at a 9.4. Fantastic book. I'm very happy with the grade. Like the other books it was bought at a news stand/ Stationary store when I was a kid. I was bagging books before they made comic book bags, I used the larger penny saver bags that I got from a friend who delivered the PSer.

That's some sweet goodness :) Love when being a kid pays off lol

Don't be afraid of the packaging.  As long as you can slap two pieces of cardboard around a comic and wrap it in bubble wrap then you are good.

Then I might do that, is the form pretty straightforward? I mean for first timers? The LCS was charging me like $40 per modern, so I'd probably save some money on my own account lol but haven't worked out the math, for as mentioned: bubble rap, cardboard, shipping to and from, what insurane etc. It just always seems a hassle, I know you get some kind of percentage discount though so (don't laugh or scold I'm a little embarrased about the whole thing) I'm probably losing money at the LCS...

Why not just submit it yourself?

I don't know, I should lol but I don't send that much and my LCS only charges me what they're charged. I haven't had the will to submit on my own or to get my own account. Whenever, I get money enough to buy the level of CGC I want, I end up spending it on my collection. Plus I don't sell, lame excuse, but I'm not familiar with packaging etc. I am a little nervous to do it on my own, because I've been satisfied with the LCS and have been using them for a couple of years. I know that I should :)

  10. Mine were submitted to CCS through LCS in early January and then on to CGC, they got to be a CGC by now, right? Well time to call the LCS, it was the longest teir TAT.

If CGC is moving quickly should be soon. Its been 10 1/2 to 11 1/2 weeks ;)

  11. I don't know if this is an appropriate question but here goes:

Did they do this type of grading so that once graded and having the sticker, people can show what is a 9.6, 9.8, 6.0 etc, so people can then take pictures and compare to other graded company items.....?

  12. I'm still going with 6.0 to 6.5 depending on what the inside looks like. The subscription crease doesn't bother me to much, but it might drop it to 5.0 to 5.5. Looks like the crease doesn't break color all the way down, so nice mid-grade copy :) oh I forot the stain, I'll stick to 5.0 to 5.5

I recently got an ASM 300 9.8 White...Saw it in the comic store display case for $225.00+tax, Pressed out the spine roll and came back a 9.8...so glad I didn't have to pay the $1500 ebay price tag. Now onto finding a raw 9.8 copy of 301 to have graded.

how much do you charge for your services hm I found one raw, didn't press it though, thought it'd come back in the 9's at worst 8.5, came back 8.0 lol even those who held it in hand raw were surprised.....plus at LCS nearly every copy they've had for a while has been priced at $300 raw...... :)
