  1. Still no sketch option, dang it, but I'm broke, still would have tried. Depending on proce of course
  2. Jr is an acquired taste but has the leniage and pedigree, from work he's done, so all in all it would be a personal choice. Some facilitators allow you to mail items for the same service that they witness to take care of, save you a drive, con tickets and the crowd. Cgc also has signings sometimes with him here where you can mail in, even some of those have sketch options. In short or imo to drive all that way to include what you want has a personal touch ! I wouldn't personally unless I was already attending the con and he happened to be there, but that's me. Affinity can go a long way, but if you need to ask? Then perhaps you have options of mailing? @Beaudini if you want to though no harm, go for it.
  3. Your post being after mine makes sense, although you didn't quote me or probably weren't responding to me I didn't remember my post, but your right, different LCS definitely have different origin stories. A different yard procured and managed in different ways. They all serve their purpose, and I don't really have complaints, just to be aware and prepare while being excited for con season!
  4. Ya. My mom told me recently that she is still pre diabetes at the doctor, she tried to attribute that to the diet since I cook But it's OK evidently to have cheat days haha, but ya it's tough to keep it under 40$$. We only do out to eat on weekends and dominoes on Wednesday, but I used to think that cooking at home was more expensive and I'm changing my mind somewhat Actually it used to not be but is now about the same, or it is neck and neck now I'm wondering which will win.
  5. 3 whoppers 3 fries 3 small cheeseburgers. Even at $2.50 or $3.00 a piece, especially burgers, still saving about $7 to $9 at all up for $17. idk it'll work out Lord willing but ya it's gone up a bit. It's weird with the coupon and all that a $5 order of 8 nuggets and a footling bmt and six cookies from subway. Total it was all $35, which is about normal for a family of four.
  6. If it were my own, I'd be weighing if I wanted to tempt cgc to label it 9.6 for choosing a tier. Although the advice given is pretty spot on for standard, and I'd presume given conversations with cgc that they'd suggest the same, as walkthrough I presume is not charged nor calculated until graded for the percentage price? Spot on or not, in this case I suggest calling cgc, they used to handle such questions with a sense of knowledge. If you do I'd love to hear how they answer.
  7. Lol sorry for the long post, I think key is a level headed term, but when it comes to maj or minor and with all the run up? I believe the line is blurred a bit. We used to have reasons laid out in over street so I get the train of thought and could give insight to the old stuff, but with all the apps touting everything it gets kind of blurred. I agree they're ones I need or don't have, and would want and #39 catches the eye.
  8. To piggy back on what I said? ASM #39 was collected or posted a lot more than #40 when I got here 6 years ago, but #40 was sometimes picked up to complete the run, similar to #121 &122. I guess you may be asking how they were thought of before everyone was buying everything, and it all became convoluted, as one big buy everything Which I totally get. If I had to pick between the 2 based on my experience #39 is the maj and #40 is the minor, due to just what others collected more before any run up. 1st traditional artist, a legend, used to add a lot more wait, but with your McFarlanes and sometimes Hughes or Jim Lee doing the circuit? We have had buzz for such criteria of collecting. The next generation is left to your: Dell Otto, Momoko, and Artgerm and I'm not sure how long that niche to collecting will spur that to keep going, but hopefully
  9. Nobody. But it’s all about people’s opinions, which after all is what online forums are all about. Or I could see how it is a "train of thought" issue. Basically 1st app are maj/min by if you can afford them or not, and maybe situational #39/40 ASM are the same. As far as impact of 1st app or plot, there are the tried and true 1st app and plot that have been popular a long time, that have always been major despite value. Remember ASM 122 and 121 only really spiked within the last 7 to 8 years, imo. Always been valued as major is what I mean. Then there are books like ASM #316 that have been clued in or set apart since their release day, that always had a special place in hearts for the cover, but only recently after 30 some odd years saw any kind of "spike that lasted!" In short, you'll have to rate maj/min as it will be your opinion based on experience and awareness, when born introduced and etc. There is nothing wrong with asking the question, but some that are long running are better than "some flash in the pan moderns?" yes to that. I thought that might be what this thread was, just #39 &#40 didn't used to be so "valued" and can it be trusted to "remain the same" over time. Guess is as good as mine, although probably more a chance than most moderns, we'll see
  10. Encapsulation is when they slab the book and before qc, and qc quality control is the step before they ship where they "double check" everything and print a shipping label.
  11. Well after seeing a batarang for so long, I guess that's understandable
  12. Preach. Even in their Facebook paypal video or sales, they touted that they will be more "$$ in store or at a con", which technically is understandable. It just makes me see their starting point an wonder has it been like that all along? Or am I just not as "hip to the game?" Some comics just don't strike me as often as had been, and I wonder if it is the price... got to be idk
  13. For some odd reason, it reminds of of a lot of Chinese throwing stars
