  1. There is still someone here who posts those kinds of books and or slabs from time to time, even the 9.9 to 10s in this week in collection thread. Not sure if it is the same person, but those books are common in grade like that, or they're at least more common than other titles. The way they're made is different. I just wanted to speak up that over in modern there is a thread to post your 9.9', I'm not sure if the thread qualifier is to have subbed yourself or not. There are some heavy hitters posted! I have yet to find a book within reason that I could afford, and or, felt passionate enough about. Maybe some day!
  2. Ah so you dont even have it back yet and you already know that it must be labeled wrong. @CGC Mike presumably but still idk, that would be a census thing as well.
  3. @Dave2739 That's a big book! Looks to be in great shape to!
  4. I don't know how you did it, but kudos to you for sneaking in that 75 year old book. Edited 2 minutes ago by Gaard Hope that was done on purpose and someone didnt slip your submission a comic book cherry on top.
  5. I haven't noticed any slabs that were misgraded that badly, I do tend to trust without too much thought on slabs though and I guess I shouldn't Mine definitely wouldnt be as pricey either and not all 9.8 either. I check when i buy just no fine toothed comb etc Interesting that the dealer thought it was over graded and priced accordingly, that in fact I definitely have not noticed, but good for them! Here is my last con thread if it interests you? There are pics of wall books, but not a lot of pics of what we bought. I put mine in this week in collection. There are readable prices and I gave my list of slabs and what I paid. More to the point, not a lot of ASM 300 talk, so i might have missed your point
  6. I want to say my first introduction to Wonder Man was through the TV show the Comic Book Men. One of the "clerks" had lost some stuff through hurricane Sandy and the other clerks got George Perez (RIP) to do a original art sketch of the character as a way to restart his collection. Memorable and thoughtful is how I remember all of the above.
  7. I believe that I did the same with these two, as well. I had 2 other raws that I was planning on doing too, but RIP. They were TEC 395 and Bats 244
  8. Speaking of which, it jogged my memory that I picked up this low grade raw before upgrading to a slab 8.5, then I sent in the raw to Neal at a CGC in house signing a few years back.
