  1. Whoa, that cover is awesome! They're definitely pumping their colors though. Still that's a great looking book regardless. Did you receive shipping notification from them? I paid as soon as I received my invoice, but haven't seen anything since.
  2. In which case, always be prepared for significant drops when the market is impacting. Look at high-end DC silver age keys, most are dropping like rocks. Good time to pick-up? Probably, but who knows!?
  3. Which is insane, but hey, people can spend their money the way they see fit. That's going to be an awful big bubble.
  4. This is just plain incorrect. It's as if you were absent from 2007-2009/2010. High grade prices dropped like a rock for the vast majority of keys. It was a great time to buy, but a terrible time to sell. Comics aren't recession proof. If and when the market eventually sees another downturn--as is nature for the market--you'll see this occur again. Maybe not to the same extent, but if it was guaranteed money than everyone would be doing it.
  5. Crime and Punishment #2 reduced to $150 shipped!
  6. If I didn't already have a copy I'd take this off your hands. Good deal on a solid book!
  7. Nothing like 4x appreciation inside of a year!
  8. Oh that's confusing based on the context of your prior post. I didn't mean it negatively, it's a wicked cool book that I was watching as well, it just exceed my budget--which I'm gathering is a sliver of yours. I'm shocked how much it's spiked in value, but you have all of the numbers behind everything so you know better than most anyone.
  9. Agreed. It's a great book, but I'm not sure what's happened to it's value over the last year. It's seeing a crazy run-up, like a minor version of what's happening to Mask #1 and #2.
  10. There's crazy and then there's whatever is happening to Mask #1 and #2 prices. Crazy doesn't really capture the insanity IMO.
  11. Nice book. I think you'd have a better chance of connecting a buyer if you updated the title--no reason to be all mysterious. There's plenty of Craig Flessel/war time collectors.
  12. You make a really strong point, I forgot to look at the census numbers. That definitely gives it a bit more weight. From what I understand copies aren't moving. We're seeing sale prices lower than they've been in a number of years, it's definitely a lead weight at this point. All of that said, it's a classic and always will be.
  13. It's possible I'm completely wrong, but I had never heard that prior. If they do it would be interesting to learn how much? Does this also impact OW, Cream, etc.? Or just brittle and slightly brittle? I suspect whatever it is it's changed over the years.
  14. I mean, I don't disagree, but this is how it works. I think by doing it less way they take one more subjective element out of the formula. There's already so much "art" in the grading process as it is. Heck, you see books change page quality once often when resubbed--how does that happen?
  15. I'm confused. I don't believe the grade itself is impacted by the page quality, that's separate. Say you had two books that were somehow identical sans page quality. One could be a 6.0 white, while the other is a 6.0 brittle. Are you stating you thought the brittle one would be say a 5.0 instead of a 6? I think CGC did this purposely. They don't judge wrap quality either, which frankly is frustrating as many of the 70's Marvels look horrid.
  16. Being my first time buying through HA, do they send you an invoice or do you pay through the site? I suspect there's a fee for credit card payments? Any tips and tricks?
  17. I recognize that it's considered the start of the silver age, however the discrepancy between Showcase 4 and Showcase 22, which features an equally impressive character, is just far, far too vast. A 6.5 Showcase 22 is an $8K book.
  18. Mind boggling. That book has doubled inside of a year. That said the cover is super cool.
  19. I was watching this as well. That's a really nice 4.0 with super vibrant colors. I dig it!
  20. Well I nabbed this. Always wanted a copy, or at least briefly. Seems like a good purchase in lieu of the 3.5 that sold earlier this year at $9K+.
  21. Wait, wasn't the last sale on this like $80K?! EDIT - duh, it was on HA. $90K! Oofta to that buyer.
  22. Highest graded with a well-known pedigree. It's a very high number, but I'm sure that's the driver.
