  1. I think ... think ... think... at least a couple candidates exist, in the personal holdings of the Sinnott family. They have displayed copies at some shows; can't recall if it was the splash or cover of FF #51 I was told about, by a show organizer. That's the extent of my knowledge, but its enough to be fairly confident there's a couple gems.
  2. What little man?!?!? Monster books, you BSD you! Blown away by the firepower in this thread, Josh
  3. Once again, a as ASM #92 goes to...THEE!! ... Unstoppable!!!! ... JAAAAAAYYYY!!!! .... DEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! Thank you Jay!
  4. Boardies, I know I'm leaving this one open a bit, but I'm finding it has a bit of a slow roll to it, and there's a LOT left so I want to leave it for a bit longer. I'm actually hoping to make time (not tonight) to do a recap. So, for those that know they are done and want to get wrapped up and get to getting their books, just PM me if that's the case. I will PM everyone upon thread closure, but anyone who is done for sure is welcome to let me know. For those coming in late: there's $1 off anything listed under $10; $2 off anything from $10 to $20 (except Vampirella 3 & 10), and lots of price cuts on most but quite all of the over $20 books. There's still a 1st MODOK and an entry-level ASM #121 (better than anything you can get on ebay for comparable $$) left, among many, many other things. Thanks everyone for looking, taking, and krapping!
  5. Creatures on the Loose #11 goes to Macedoniagreece! (My books take better trips than I do!) Thanks again!
  6. Reserved for threadkrap! Hiya Josh, GLWTS! For them that don’t know from Josh, this could be interesting in all those good, wallet-hurting ways you love
  7. Triple Crown as Fear #19, Ms. Marvel #1 and DD #88 (at sale price) all go to Oceans11! Thank you Don and welcome to the thread!
  8. You’re probably right as you often hear that said about the book — “no big first appearances” — but I for the life of me cannot see why this idea (no new characters introduced as a ceiling factor on a book’s importance) has taken hold as having any significance at all. What was introduced in Avengers #1 was the concept of the Avengers, not just the backbone of the MCU but in many ways the unifying thread book for the continuity of the comics themselves. The Avengers was sort of the clubhouse title for years, where most anyone might show up/pass through. And they are the mentioned idea in so many books — the idea of the Avengers became a writer’s device. When there’s a big, honking problem in the pages of a Marvel comic, some character always says, “Call the Avengers.” I would argue that the concept of the Avengers is far more important to the Marvel Universe than most individual characters introduced over the years, including many I enjoy. So I think the concept of the Avengers is far more important, more key, than many, many characters’ first appearances. (And sure I think one could apply this thinking to B&B 28 or All Star #3 as well.)
  9. Nick took a Daredevil #1 in one of my threads --- great communication, fast payment, and great to chat books with!
  10. I am extending the Superman titles sale to the entire thread! That is -- For books listed under $10, take $1 OFF. For Books listed $10 to $20, take $2 OFF (except Vampirella #'s 3 & 10). Most (but not all) books listed above $20 have received select individual price cuts; scroll through and take a look. Lots of good stuff left. Thanks everyone for all the takes and looks so far; its been a long-running thread and I will close it soon to get people their books, but I want to give everyone just a little while to shop the sales.
  11. It ain't no more, cuz you are a Batman #227 goes to Joeypost! Thank you Joey and welcome to the thread!
