  1. Never thought about that, Hector. When I see a book arrive in a bag with an old sticker, I'm usually thinking "Damn dude was too cheap/lazy to re-bag this funnybook!" Then I think he or she figures I'm just going to re-bag it anyway and I get over it. That's all I've got on old price stickers.
  2. Hi all, Picked up an estate collection; within it was a 25-book Death of Superman "subset." They appear to have been bagged and unread. Only the Comic Talk #2, with a visible flaw by the top staple, appears to me like it would be out of the 9's. As to where the rest would fall in the 9-somethings, I am not speculating on the grading, but the rest are sharp and flat with clean spines. (I tried to balance checking and handling; the double-edged sword of finding unread books.) You get everything pictured below, a mix of newsstand and LCS copies, including the early Doomsday cameos, full first appearance, and first through fourth printings of Superman #75. 25 comics plus a set of Superman DC Skycaps. Feel free to PM with specific questions/additional photo requests. But first: First in thread wins Payment: Money Order or Check; I do not have Paypal. Shipping: Price includes U.S. priority shipping. Canada? Same price plus actual postage minus cost of U.S. Priority flat rate shipping. Don't be listy including the one in my head. Returns: Notify me within three days of receipt, with books arriving back to me in the same shape, on your dime.
  3. From Gibson to Paul to a dude (who looks like Elvis) trying to get his hands on a sweet fender
  4. Small sample of what's left within this thread...jus' saying, folks....
  5. @Ricksneatstuff We may have a new contender for scarcest St John! What the heck....
  6. Two-Fisted Tales #25! Thanks Dan! Folks, we're past planned last call but PM's work around here....take a look-see before closing time.
  7. It really does.....first time I saw this book, I did not notice it at first either, and I wasn't sure if that was his own arm holding the gun, or an arm reaching into the scene. The first time you notice that mirror is a real jolt.
  8. Okay boardies, this is the final bump, we close once this once again falls off the front page, which on a Sunday around here should be no later than sometime tonight, I would think. To all takers thus far, I am right now confirming my stacks and hope to PM everyone by tonight. In some cases, due to odd-size items, packing challenges may mean I need a day to figure the best balance of safety and reasonable shipping costs, but I want to at least confirm everyone's stack by tonight. (Assuming the power grid holds in this heat!) There's lots of great stuff still available in this thread, much of it discounted now, and I am also open to PM's on anything available. Go by the prices on the postings; they are updated. The interim recaps are out of date. Some of what's still lurking in this thread somewhere: Lois Lane 70, ASM 122, a CGC 8.0 30-cent variant of Hulk 200, Astonishing Tales 25 (1st Deathlok), cheap Dell funnies, Atlas pre-hero, Barbie and Ken #1, some coverless Golden Age, pre-code romance, Archie, Swamp Thing, Dell Giants, a fanzine, Ditko Charlton, a Marvels promo poster, unclaimed freebies, Richie Rich #7, Beatles Yellow Submarine w/poster intact...Yknow, the usual assortment Take a peek...you might find it!
  9. On hold! For a boardie both discerning and legendary! A trade is under discussion (cuz inquiring minds wanna know)
  10. Sorry @retrocomics and @Robot Man but I let it get away the one time I saw it....very disturbing scene of a father smacking his little boy across the face as the mom looks on. Real out there for an Atlas non-horror.
  11. @Microbia Holy cow I missed my own pun! I really was thinking of the other notorious EC covers -- CSS 20&22, SSS6, etc
  12. I think there's also contenders in a different vein....Crime Does Not Pay #46, and Man Comics #1.
  13. Thank you! It certainly belongs in the discussion, at least. I also think it's as top-tier an EC cover as any that get the more traditional recognition as the big guns.
  14. It was perfect timing. It went up on the boards early one morning on a weekday last week, just as I was checking.
  15. Great little set, love them! Cool and inexpensive, very wild piece of comics history. And barely takes up a third of a short box! I do need a couple Vickis if the OP has some to sell, but I have completed the rest as a reader grade set and I upgrade affordably whenever I come across nice ones.
  16. I have just completed the only round of price cuts that this soon-to-close thread will see. Some but not all received price cuts, many were deeper than the customary range. Scroll through. PM's are always welcome on all remaining books, price cuts or no.
