  1. Congrats on it working out! How would you grade those two early Spideys? (6 and 9, was it?)
  2. Thank you! The Mylar does pretty it up a bit, but it is nice and flat/clean.
  3. Now that you mention it, might those bronze books also have Marvel Value Stamps to check for?
  4. I'm thinking about the same, though maybe a little higher because they have that look like they have been in the same bags for over 20 years. They may actually look a little better once unbagged. Those bags have that wrinkly wave to them that they get over time.
  5. Irwin Hasen piece based on his own splash page for All Star Comics #35
  6. One lot here -- Little Archie Mystery #1-2 (that's right, the complete set!) Bob Bolling goodness from 1963. Both VG-ish; note some staining on the #2. The lot is $40 shipped in the U.S. No listy sorts; payment is money order or check; returns -- notify within three days of receipt, send back same condition on your dime, unless I missed something. Thanks for looking!
  7. My gut says this one is real....looks like a guy who doesn't much care about comics came into a few, made a few lazy searches and came up with some Ballpark prices. I'd page thru each one carefully, but I have a feeling the guy shows up with what's in the picture and some story...probably not a traditional collector of the sort on here. My best experiences with CL (and they are certainly the minority) are the ones with fewest words. This usually coincides, in my experience, with people who may or may not have a rough idea of what the value is for the books they have, and either way they don't much care about them/aren't too attached. I'd meet him. I'd leave my cash locked in the car, but I'd meet him. Good luck; let us know!
  8. CLOSED Hi all, One lot here, eight books, all NM. Image Comics' not too terribly common Masters of the Universe. Issues #1-4, A and B variant covers of each, for eight books total. $40 shipped U.S. No nefarious listoids. Payment is money order or check. Returns accepted; notify within three days of receipt and send back in same condition, on your dime -- unless I missed something. Will now make several posts to provide pictures; here goes...
  9. I don't know how this wasn't the first one I thought of...
  10. And I just realized this thread needs some GGA bondage
  11. You guys are way further down this rabbit hole than me (I gotta avoid some of them!) but I picked this up from an LCS once on a business trip. You guys purists in this niche or do the superheroes vs commies books count in your pursuits too? (I particularly love CMA 140 for the commie vampires, for example).
  12. Witch doctors in the jungle to witch doctors in the jungle
  13. I love the close of the original Silver Surfer series
  14. Another gem from that early bronze Archie period is called out; Betty and Me #40, called out as Archie and Betty share a cabin. But it's sought after because they get naked. There's also the two-part heroin story in Pals n Gals 71-72; it doesn't get the prices the others do, but it's another stand-out early bronze Archie.
  15. I don't know that it's scare everyone but Archies of that era in grade are not easy to find. It has a risqué dialogue counterpart that isn't called out but also fetches healthy prices: Archie 271, the infamous "pearl necklace" cover.
  16. FYI fence-sitters and head-scratchers, if you're thinking about an "I'll take it!" Or a PM, I'm closing this thread either late tonight (EST) or early tomorrow a.m.
  17. You'll be glad...fantastic brain destroyers
