  1. In the case of pence variants, the books themselves have been around for nearly 60 years! Whether it has taken 58 or 59 of them for the grading companies to catch up, I'm not too fussed. The fact that they are correctly labelling them now is the good news.
  2. Key word "could" Paul! We may never know on that. But the more we talk about it, and the more official recognition the books get, the greater our understanding can collectively improve. I'm just glad that we're closer to a fairer description / technical parity. Thanks for the kind words
  3. Well done Tiger. So we're all agreed then. Somebody colour touched every damn copy.
  4. It is based on the CGC number provided. So not colour touch, just the original cover art. 5. They know exactly what the score is Stephen, trust me. I'm sure all will be clear when the website is updated. This is just an initial communication from CGC in recognition of where the change originated from (this thread!). Let's rejoice as our books will now get correctly labelled!
  6. +1 There's usually one tolerable cover but this year's crop are exceptionally uninspiring.
  7. I did Dave. I noticed the last one too. So did Hulk
  8. Come on Stephen - this is a great result. We should be celebrating! Let's not quibble over a post in a thread my friend
  9. What fool did that poll! Oh, it was me. Shame this is still going on isn't it. I'm willing them to fix it so I can send my Spideys in. They're grading thousands of books each week. Are you guys posting here just the unlucky ones? Or is it still a fairly prevalent phenomenon? At least you get great remedial service from Brittany. Must be tough for her, trying to defend the indefensible. Tougher on the paying customer though I guess.
  10. Hulk likes avatar of Oaktreeman. Avatar of Oaktreeman is cool. But if Oaktreeman should one day tire of Hulk, and replace Hulk with a silly alternative that does not include Hulk, then Hulk will SMASH! HULK SMASH! I've been waiting for ages to do that Oak's at it again... I'm not going to mention it though, as he ignored me last time, the rotter. Oh, wait...
  11. Nice pence X-men Dan Some pence copies are indeed common here, yes, but many of the early ones are virtually non existent alas. As for DC, there's a pence thread about them if you're interested. Check my profile page (about me)
  12. This was my reaction... What is the point..? Variety. And money.
  13. Whoops! Blindness and senility are in a heated race to render me completely incompetent Yes, you're growing older! Older... Older!!!
  14. They do have pence copies for JIM, which is what I'd like to see the indicias for Stephen Good spot, TTA #43 does indeed have a no price variant: Very cool. Must've been an intended pence copy as the date is missing. And the misprinting must be a TTA thing given the #16 I posted earlier.
  15. Another one ticked off the indicia research wants list. Anyone got a pence copy of Journey into Mystery #58 or #59 they could post a copy of the indicia of by any chance? Rommbu would be ever so pleased if so. "Yes. Yes I would. I tell you what though. I wish they'd leave off with the rockets. I only asked if they'd seen Goom lately. Bloody humans"
  16. Check out the first thread in the announcements section
  17. I would love to have pie from her. she was smoking hot on Twin Peaks and in the movie Sleepwalkers. She was smoking pot in the film "Hey man, like, chill out and get your own slice of pie, okay, right"
  18. That totally is what that looks like, flesh melting and all! Yeah! I can't believe I'm the only one to comment on it though - it's probably a 'known thing'
  19. At first glance, I always felt it looked like she was sitting in a fire...
