Ross Andru's Amazing Spider-Man Club

Yup. The 179 went for $43K in 2016, and that is arguably the better cover. 3 years is a long time though so who knows.... -
Anyone know what these are? Are they hard to come by?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Fireside_Books I always thought Peter was having a little difficulty getting his shirt off here. I think Aunt May tucked it in too tight -
I think Baba(O'Riley)booey missed it.

Right! You're talking about the CGC sleeve that the comic is in, not the comic itself? CGC changed the materials they use in their slabs recently to make them 'crystal clear'. The old ones were, in theory, less 'crystal clear'. Maybe that's what the ebay listing is talking about. Post a link or the ebay number so we can be sure GOTW

Ross Andru's Amazing Spider-Man Club

It's not Norman! I'm with SV. I'd prefer the signature to be Ross's myself, or blank. Stan's the man, and always will be, but this is a Ross Andru piece of original art. I don't think anyone else has any business signing it, legend or otherwise. -

The Con Con. Mind blown You've got her up the wrong way then Mark -
Hello Ghost of the Wild! An acetate cover is just a hard plastic cover. It sometimes replaces the regular paper cover, and sometimes it acts as a transparency that sits over the cover to create a fancy effect. Here's a Maximum Clonage that gives you an idea of the latter scenario: The acetate doesn't necessarily add any value itself - the book will have value for what it is, not the fact that it has a fancy plastic cover. Another good example of an acetate cover is the 'Marvel Collectible Classic' reprint of ASM #300 - here's my old copy here, alongside the book it reprinted: The reason that book is expensive has little to do with the acetate and more to do with the book it reprints and the low numbers available. So don't buy a book 'just because it has an acetate cover' is what I'm saying. It's just a gimmick like lenticular covers (the ones that 'move' when you move them) and die cut covers. Hope that helps

There were lots of versions of that book as I recall - some pics from the old files of the Canadian and French Canadian versions:
