  1. No Space Ostrich fans in I see... I've gathered 12 Archie's so far from eBaz and this fred: The dates funnily enough cover all 6 months of March to August 1960. So perhaps it was a half year experiment? I'll keep looking and gathering and see what we come up with. I've got a couple due in the post, so maybe we'll learn more then. In the meantime, if anyone has one of these titles in their collection (which cover 1960), take a look for a 9d price: Adventures of the Fly Adventures of Little Archie Adventures of Pipsqueak Adventures of Super Duck Archie Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica Archie's Joke Book Archie's Mad House Archie's Pal Jughead Archie's Pals n Gals Archie Fly's over Niagara Falls whilst Fixing a Loose Fascia Board with a Mastic Bonding Gun Jughead's Fantasy Katy Keene Katy Keene Pin Up Parade Laugh Life with Archie Pep Super Duck (Some of these books are 25c 'giant' sized comics, so I don't think we'll see a pence version accordingly. Same with annuals)
  2. I've been doing a similar thing for years FD! It's draining isn't it I can't seem to get Rock to join in. Do you think he's sitting on a pile of them and biding his time or something? Maybe if I do an Andy Dufresne on him and invite him to the thread twice a day until he submits and sends us a ton of library books gives us his views. What do you think? @RockMyAmadeus
  3. Fancharltontastic! Thanks fett! Keep em coming buddy. That's 364 now!
  4. You'll be able to count our numbers on one hand soon kalvin! Ah, good choice I have to say, the main reason I went after the ASM books was because I was a Spidey completist so, of course, I had to have them. It was easily the hardest run of books I ever put together and I like to think I led the way in determining what existed / exists for that title. Hardly anyone else seemed to care too much apart from me and the friend I eventually sold them to. Being in the UK, collecting them was doubly hard. Ebay.au was about it, and I spent many many hours scouring those pages over a 2-3 year period. I dug out my old records (any excuse!) and can see that they lot cost me £260 to collect (excluded postage). Not bad really. As far as documenting them went I started off in word: ....and then moved on to excel: In the end, I managed what I believe to be the full set of these 53 books and one annual: They looked quite nice as a group I have to say - here they are hiding among their other Spidey variant cousins: I remember one time when I ordered some newsstand books from the US. When the package came, one of the books was not only an AUS copy, but a copy that, at the time, no one knew existed! What are the chances. I had great fun putting them together and I hope you do too kalvin. If you ever find an ASM book that's not on the list, do come and let us know. I may no longer collect them but they still really interest me. You're up against @nesqrick2 though, and he has proven himself to be the AUS King. So good luck!
  5. That is indeed life, yes PPP. I sold my ASM set to a friend. He wanted them more than I did. Do I regret it?
  6. Drat. I'd love to see a 'new' ASM AUS. It seems my research was too good! Thanks for looking though. Not sure why you got a DE from a newsstand. Did Australian comic shops not get Directs?
  7. It was supposed to be a club of love Craig. Of sweet, tender love
  8. Have you got any Triple P? Nesqrick2 can't own every comic in Australia. Can he?
  9. Oh yeah. No wonder Nancy despises the TGK. Missing an apostrophe out like that is unforgiveable!
  10. Yep. Think I'll do a feature on it at some point. Any excuse to discuss nurses, eh.
  11. No, it's dated too lated Jim. Shame, as it's a cracking book and I'd love a pence copy to exist. Nurses indeed! But they have to be registered. Like our Bestsy here: Would you argue with her?
  12. I'll try and post the full contents of my Konga #1 dupe soon. He's a fun fellow, I can tell you
  13. Yes, the cents version has a printed month but still a handwritten issue number. The suggestion is (and I've seen it noted a few times down the years) that there is a mechanically printed issue number copy. If there is, I've never seen one, cents or pence.
