All 4 of my copies from Midtown are second printing. Charity aside, we all know for collectors the only thing that will matter is the CGC label which will read "Second Printing". Yea what a bummer. Im surprised Midtown didn't notify its customers that it would be the 2nd print shipping out and not the 1st print.

Did anyone pick up an actual 1st printing and if so from where?

I'm curious / worried my 2 copies haven't shipped from Midtown yet, it doesn't say backordered but it doesn't show as shipped. I'm still gonna get a 1st printing yea??? Will have to give them a call in the morning.

CGC has told me that more than likely on the cgc label it will say Harry Potter Pin-Up by Jim Lee and not 1st appearance of Harry Potter.

In 24-48 hrs I can tell you guys if this will be labeled as the 1st appearance of HP or not. Either way it goes to a good cause.

According to my LCS its out of stock from Diamond and they can't order it. So I'm guessing the print run can't be super huge. Any thoughts on that??

Diamond could have easily pulled them. I'll make my usual rounds on Tues and Wed and see what's out there. Tues evening I'll go to some shops that always have the new books on the shelf with 'Not for sale until Wed" signs up. I'll report That would be appreciated thanks for doing that.

My theory as a collector of many, many years? People are coming to there senses and realizing it's unsure to pay 1700.00 for a modern variant. ...of any character. Yea I hear ya on that, before I'd drop almost 2 grand on a modern comic I'd pick up a lebron james rookie auto basketball card in 10 years that will be worth more than 99% of all modern variants. The sports card mentality won't serve you well. Ask anyone who paid $3k for Michael Jordan rookies graded at 9 thinking they'd get rich 10 years after he retired. Why buy a Lebron card for $2k, who could break his leg tomorrow and be done when you can get a low grade 1933 Babe Ruth for the same money. Modern cards VS modern variants is really the same thing, very fickle market PSA 9 Jordan rookie is selling for about $4800. Lebron just had a rookie auto with logoman patch sell at auction this past week for $310,000 3rd highest amount for a basketball card ever. Lebron could break both legs tomorrow and never play basketball again and his cards would be gold for the grand kiddies. In the past year his BGS 9.5 2003 SP Authentic rookie auto #d /500 has more than doubled if you can even find them because people wont even sell them anymore. You can get a BGS 9 or PSA 9 of the same card for around 2500 if you're lucky and that will double in value at a minimum. There aren't many sure things in collecting but lebron james BGS 9 or 9.5 and PSA 9 or 10 rookie autos are as close to a sure thing as you will ever see. I literally buy and sell cards and comics and take the profits from those sales and stash it into a separate bank account to buy Lebron rookies. Although lately ive been working on trying to do the same to obtain a Spawn #185 Sketch Variant just because I want one and never intend on selling it.

Any comments / thoughts on why the x-23 #1 dell'otto variant is dropping in price on ebay? Saw a 9.8 go for $1000 didn't these used to go for 1700+ ?

Everyone needs to start somewhere but if you are really concerned you can cancel his bid and block him from bidding again. If it was me I'd probably message him and feel them out a little to see if they are legit. Good luck. How do I cancel his bid I can't figure it out.

So i have my 9.8 Venom #1 Mcfarlane 1 per store variant on ebay and it was at $300, a guy with zero feed back score just bid it up to $305. How worried should I be and is there anything I can do to protect myself from a potential issue. Thanks.

Yea this is why I think I've come to the conclusion that if I can't get it from my LCS im not going to bother trying to get it. I think I also have an issue with not being able to see what exactly I'm buying. I'm to OCD to get stuck with a Grab Bag hope my copy dont suck kind of option.

We need more robust search. All the other forums I frequent have a search option within threads. You can search within threads?

I didn't read all 40 pages of this but I'm wondering if anyone mentioned Spawn #185 B/W sketch variant or Spawn #223 Kudranski Variant.
