  1. I think, to be accurate, we are comparing the "Green Cardigan" Cobaine wore on MTV unplugged, with a Green Cardigan he wore at some other concert.
  2. Here's where I differ from you. The GL #76 is iconic because that issue is considered to be the first comic heralding the Bronze Age. It has more than artistic significance. The Batman #251 cover is mostly "iconic" because it's a cool cover. Yes, they reintroduce classic Joker, but it's not GL #76 level important in the history of comics.
  3. OK. How about this cover? https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/neal-adams-batman-222-cover-beatles-original-art-color-guide-and-printer-s-proof-group-of-3-dc-1970-total-3/a/7163-91024.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 $78K with juice two years ago. Are we assuming that the #251 sells for 7 or 8 times that?
  4. First, I was referring to "Batman" in the generic sense, not the "Title of the Comic" sense. But, still, is this a fair comp? https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/neal-adams-and--giordano-batman-stacked-cards-book-and-record-set-pr-27-cover-original-art-power-records-/a/7187-91002.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 Sold for $31,000 a year ago. Are we expecting the #251 cover to go for 20 times that?
  5. Yep. It has just about everything you’d want in an Asterix page, which is why Uderzo probably gifted it.
  6. So, according to Art Droids, this page is the "first published Judge Dredd image." Its the one where Dredd is riding his bike and firing its cannons. They claim it was used in promotional material before the Prog 2 story was published. Which raises some questions, as I thought Ezquerra did the first Dredd publish image. http://www.artdroids.co.uk/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=4779&ArtistId=682&Details=0&From=Room
  7. That's nuts. And nobody bought any of the pages?!? Huge missed opportunity there. When did they post these?
  8. My hammer estimate was based upon a guess of $15K-$20K per page. So, $75K-$100K. Who is submitting this? Do we think it's Mike McMahon? Clearly being put up via a British collector/owner.
  9. It’s possible. But I regularly scan those sources, and I didn’t see them. Maybe someone posted them on Facebook to point out that they were up at Heritage?
  10. https://www.christies.com/lotfinder/Lot/encre-de-chine-pour-la-planche-41-6237102-details.aspx It's in Paris.
  11. Some Really good Neil Adams Batman covers sold for less than $60K two years ago. I just can’t see this one going for more than ten times that.
  12. Yeah. I apologize for publicizing it so much, as I bet you and a few others here were hoping it’d fly a bit under the radar.
  13. You’re one of the collectors I thought of when I saw the Prog 2 Dredd art up at Heritage.
  14. Yeah. We discussed that. I can see some British creators or comics fans biding this one up. So, it could bust $100K. But I’ll stick with my estimate.
  15. This is a weird one. I'd have to go back and see how they promoted the story, but the image may just be of a generic Judge rather than Dredd, per se. Note that the badge he's wearing just says "Judge' and not "Dredd" as well. Also, in the story context, it could be argued that the Judge on the Motorcycle on the first page isn't Dredd, but Judge Alvin, whom "Whitey" the bad guy, kills. Judge Alvin was riding a Motorcycle when he was shot. If the Judge on the Cycle image was not promoted as the Judge Dredd feature, but just a generic story character, then the image of Dredd standing next to the Grand Judge is the official, bona fide first Judge Dredd appearance ever published. In any case, it's a hell of a thing to see up for auction.
  16. This is the literal first published appearance of Judge Dredd (non promotional image). It's now up for auction. The Ezquerra promotional art from the first page of this story is a stat. Would love to find that OA.
  17. The literal first published story appearance of Judge Dredd is up for auction. The only previous appearance was Carlos Ezquerra’s promotional drawing of Dredd on his motorcycle. Dredd doesn’t appear on the cover of 2000 AD prog 2. http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=prog&page=profiles&choice=2 So....$75K to $100,000 for the full story is probably accurate.
  18. I really don't have a clue. Bolland Dredd pages tend to be the most in demand. Ezquerra (who created the character design) is not as valuable, and actually in the affordable range for me. McMahon is probably right around Ezquerra, except for this story. This is the Judge Dredd first story appearance. Those are the three best known Dredd artists from his classic era, and which are most familiar to American comic collectors, as those stories were reprinted in multiple ways here (including Eagle comics, etc). So, how do you value that? I'd say between $75-$100K. But, I could be way off on that. It might not break $50K, which would be a steal IMHO.
