  1. It depends on the book. This page is from Black Magick, art by Nicola Scott. It’s pretty detailed ink wash, and paced well. But it’s people talking, in a realistic way, not punching each other. But she creates tension and suspense visually with cinematic techniques like extreme close ups. Note the second panel with the close up of the eyes. You can see a bead of sweat coming down, the light reflected in the glasses, and the eyes look worried. A lot of modern art is sparse. With background details filled in digitally or by colorists. I love this page because you can tell what’s going on without any word balloons. That’s great sequential storytelling.
  2. You want to make sure you use archival glue that does not yellow with age, or bunch up as it hardens.
  3. That's from a pretty historic/key book, and that panel page is a pretty important panel in that book. So, it will carry a premium.
  4. That Spider-Man Annual #3 page is pretty killer. I can see it going for $10K. I think the Star Wars pages are all around 800-1K plus. Star Wars pages with Yoda and the MF are pretty desirable. And that's from the original Marvel Star Wars run, no? I can see that cast/MF page going for $2k. Ranking them I'd say the Ewoks page is lowest, the Yoda page next and the MF/Han page highest. Around $750; $1200; $2000 I think about 800-1000 on the Hulk annual panel page, just on content. It's a great Hulk vs Spidey fight page, but its not from a key book, and Buckler isn't a higher end artist. Please do not rely on these estimates, as I am not an appraiser nor am I an expert. Just guessing.
  5. Honestly, that Avengers cover looks like it has a mix of art styles on it. The Vision and the Conan look like they were by different artists than the rest of the cover. If I had to guess, I'd go with Buckler. But, maybe that Vision and Conan are stats?
  6. Weirdly, many people don't do this when they buy a house. The sales price is generally public information. So, you know exactly how much someone paid for a house you are bidding on. And you can also look up to see how many years they have been paying a mortgage on it, to estimate what they still owe. You can even see if a second mortgage has been taken out.
  7. I Predict that it will sell for more than I can possibly afford.
  8. I compare it more to newspaper comic strip art. Some of the great stuff will continue to be held in high esteem and be valuable. It’s been almost 100 years since a Little Nemo strip was published. Yet it’s highly esteemed by even young OA collectors who encounter it. Great is great.
  9. Since it's signed by Scott, he probably knows who owns it.
  10. I just think you have to have a flipper mentality to pay more than you budget for something in this hobby, unless it's one of your Grails. I get why some people like to stockpile tradeable (or saleable) "assets," as if they are an NBA franchise. But, that requires up front out of pocket cash. And, unless I LIKE the piece and want it for myself, I just can't bring myself to pony up for it. Not unless it's in my price range, to begin with. If someone offered by a Kirby mid-60's FF cover for $25K, it may be a fantastic bargain, but I ain't got 25 large to spend on it.
  11. Yep. I've seen that Preacher 1 page, and it was crazy when he posted it for sale. At least he now tries to try and sell it as the SOK's grave site.

  13. Yep. They write off the losses, and make just enough sales to claim it’s a business.
  14. My guess is that he’s so precise and detailed that he can’t do both commissions and published stuff in a timely manner.
  15. I have a Buckler FF Page with the Surfer. Admittedly he’s tiny and not doing a whole lot but the Torch & Kang are having some fun
