  1. They butchered that Cap 100 Cover. I have a wood wall hanging of that published cover in my house. The original is so much better than the one they published. I guess they wanted to add the Wasp? And Shores’ inking was superb.

  3. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MICHAEL-GAYDOS-COIL-ORIGINAL-OIL-PAINTING-18-X-24-IN/253387199148 He says it's to pay for legal fees to fight a developer who wants to build a large bar/restaurant in his neighborhood. The painting is pretty awesome, though. https://twitter.com/gaydosmichael/status/956225447666307072
  4. There's a massive 2000AD collector who lives in Minnesota, and who posts regularly on some of the Facebook groups I am a member of. He posts some amazing stuff. Do you know him?
  5. I'm not a flipper. And I'm not sure I want to buy a page, just to flip it for more art. But, its too tempting to give away what I'm talking about. If it were about 1K less, I'd probably jump on it.
  6. Didn't see you posted this. I saw it elsewhere, and its a fun interview, Were you guys skyping of facetiming? It sounded like you were pulling some pages out to show him via the video link. Didn't know you had such a long and friendly relationship with Brian Bolland, who is my favorite artist. (And, a Bolland "Dredd" page is the closest thing to a grail I have). Also, you're too modest. Eamonn called that page "the most famous page in British comics history."
  7. Probably not a whole lot, unless this was from a Key, and it’s not. It’s a nice golden age Supes panel page with him in all but one panel, including a classic flight pose. This is also very early Plastino Superman where he is aping Wayne Boring’s style.
  8. I asked someone I trust about it and they agreed it was a deal. I’m not sure why it’s still sitting there, but it doesn’t have a lot of people following it. So it may be kind of hidden. There is no way the piece would not receive attention otherwise.
  9. It does make you wonder why Keebler would want a war on marijuana.
  10. If the price point was lower, I probably would. I am just not a flipper/seller. I don’t but art with that mentality. That said, Imstill thinking about it. And tgelonger the piece sits there with no one snapping it up, the more I wonder whether I am pricing it right.
  11. Is there a back scan? But seriously, the condition looks OK. I’d be a little concerned about that pasted on Action Comics header. Given the age of the page (69 years old) that probably is loose or may have been re-glued at some point. I have a couple of pages in that age range. The paper stock is otherwise pretty hardy; better than modern stock It’s thicker. No opinion on value, but it’s a really nice page Here’s what the published version looks like for reference.
  12. It’s a bit out of my normal price range. And I would only be buying it because it’s a relative deal, not because I love the art. Not sure I want to go down the road of being a flipper.
  13. I’ve been looking at a deal right now on eBay that is so good I don’t want to tell anyone about it yet,
  14. This I agree with. Have the option to search only unsold pages.
  15. $155K in May of 2016, so not that long ago.
  16. I said it would "push" 5 figures. Didn't say it necessarily would command that. But, frankly, given the importance of the page, and the timing, it MIGHT. If Mike put that up for auction within the next 3 months, he could get close, for sure.
  17. Ummm...is it? Doesn't Kane's prelim exist for this? Yes. Yes it does. And, it doesn't matter anyway. The #153 cover is vastly superior to the #100 cover. So it should command a higher price. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/gil-kane-amazing-spider-man-151-cover-preliminary-artwork-original-art-marvel-1975-/a/7139-92100.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515
  18. If you have never sold or traded a piece of art, it would be hard for the IRS to argue that you are making money off of buying and selling art.
  19. Really? An 80's Big Two superhero cover (even of Firestorm) is not a sub $1000 page. And this one is pretty nice, from a pure aesthetics point of view.
  20. I think they do differentiate. But this is a key page from a key book. The artist is ~almost~ irrelevant.
  21. This is a situation where the relevant page is from a key book and is THE key page in that key book. If the art were by Perez vs Lim, it might be 50-100% more valuable. But, also, certain artists become fan and collector favorites and Lim seems to be moving into that category vis a vis cosmic Marvel art. Particularly Thanos, and Surfer art. That said, a Lim IG page might be worth less than this one.
  22. Not that this is necessarily relevant, but I bought a page directly from an artist at a convention, and then contacted that artist's rep to buy another one a couple of months later. I mentioned that I bought another page from the artist, and they asked me which one. I told them, and the rep said "Oh, so THAT's where that page went! I thought it was lost!" Sometimes, people lose track of stuff.
