  1. This list is not complete. Gen 2 had either a solid inner well, no solid inner well and a "thick" variant.
  2. Are you sure it is even really a color fleck? The scan seems to show white dust marks all over it. Also, even if it is a color fleck, it is so small that it does not affect the grade. BTW, this is one of the best looking EC's I have ever seen!
  3. You need to wash that in some Oxi Clean.
  4. I think you are referring to the old new cases, not the new new cases. The wavy issue has been resolved.
  5. Hi, I am selling something on eBay and I just got this message from the potential buyer. What do you think? Should I do as he suggests? I am a bit wary of this being a scam. He only has 9 feedback, but all are positive. "I want to buy it, but your account is not accept payments from non-U.S. PayPal accounts. could you change it? my Paypal account is Canada. but shipping address is U.S, so no worry. is it ok? could you change it? and i will buy it asap." Thanks!
  6. I just saw Wolverine (1988) #27, CGC 9.8, is going for ridiculous prices on eBay. There's one on eBay now with the bid currently up to $155. Until very recently, this was generally a $50 or less book. The cover is pretty awesome, but there is nothing key about it, as far as I know. Anyone know what's up with this one?
  7. Here's a wild thought... could they have been buying books they wanted for their collection, instead of just buying stuff to flip? I believe that - I'm often reminded how lucky we are on these boards in terms of knowledge and understanding of the market compared to the vast majority of collectors. To most, story and emotional connection are still a priority when selecting books. love the exposure too and knowledge that these boards provide... but I am never gonna make bank on comics... I buy what I like... so story and art... to me... are the priority... value 20yrs from now is a far second... But, if you see a NM 98 in a dollar box, for example, are you going to pass it up because you already have it in your collection?
  8. Did your scans used to be brighter? If so, have you changed scanners or scanning software? If everything has remained the same and the scans suddenly started looking like this, you may have a hardware problem. As always, I would try using VueScan and see if that helps.
  9. Try turning the slab the other way when you scan it. That works most of the time, but not always.
  10. Has anyone noticed that that new CGC slabs scan differently than the old slabs? It appears that the new ultra white grade box is making my scans appear much darker. Does anyone know what setting in VueScan can correct this for the new slabs? Here is an example of an old slab that I scanned: Here is a scan of a new slab on the same scanner with the same VueScan settings: See the difference? Thanks.
  11. Hi, I am looking for opinions on what to do about this eBay transaction. Should I leave a negative or a neutral feeback? Basically, I won 3 CGC books from the same seller. The shipping was listed as $15 in each auction. I know I should have asked beforehand about combined shipping, but I have never had a problem getting combined shipping in the past. Once I won the auctions, I sent the seller a message requesting a combined shipping total. He sent me an invoice for $45 shipping. I messaged him back if he could please combine shipping as he could easily fit 3 slabs in a Flat Rate box for under $15. He refused. He actually told me in a reply that he was trying to make up for the eBay fees by charging this much for shipping. I reminded him that that is actually against eBay rules and it seems unreasonable to charge $45 for something that actually would cost $15 max. He ultimately came down to $27 shipping. I paid the $27 because I really wanted the books. However, I feel that $27 shipping for 3 CGC books, which he sent in one box, and I only live one state away from him, is still way too high. In my mind, $20 would be the max reasonable to charge. I believe that he profited roughly $15 by overcharging for shipping. What do you think? Negative or neutral? There is no way I am giving a positive. Thanks.
  12. Send that X-Men back to CGC. I would think they would press it and re-holder for free. How does SCS like that happen in the new holder?
