  1. Try turning the slab around. I found that this decreases the glare, but does not eliminate it.
  2. It's a Greg Land cover. 'Nuff said. All of his females have the same exact face and look like they were traced from a magazine (because they were).
  3. Just ran across this one today (yes, it's borderline Copper Age). The proportions of the characters remind me of Liefeld's work.
  4. Meeklo bought a slab from me recently. Quick payment! Thanks!
  5. Picked this up recently on the boards. I've been looking for one of these for too long.
  6. Wow, really? About the only criticism I have of Arrow, which is excellent, is thinking they miscast Laurel and Sara for each others roles. One comes across 'soap opera', the other a well rounded actor deserving of a permanent role. imho. I just get past her chin and weird eye-looks. Better actor than Laurel? I agree. Better looking? Nope. I can stare into Laurels eyes all day long. I agree. She's beautiful.
  7. There's your problem.... The Pro version is worth it.
  8. What is the best way to clean the glass on your scanner? Fluid: windex? eyeglass cleaning fluid? Cloth: paper towel? cotton towel/rag? cleaning wipe (if so, which brand and type?) Everything I have used either smears the glass or leaves tiny particles that are picked up by the scanner. Thanks.
  9. Just updated my post with the Output tab. Thanks.
  10. Using the HP 8300 with VueScan on a Mac, I scan (once) and have the jpg output land on my desktop. When I'm finished scanning, I pull those into Photobucket. Seems easy enough, but I'm only scanning a few books at a time. Did you have any problems on initial set up? I have a Mac as well. I hooked up the HP8300 I just got today and opened VueScan which shows the 8300 as the device. But when I hit the scan button all it said was that it was busy with a percentage counting up for a few minutes, but the scanning element never moved and no image was taken. Any ideas? **edit. problem fixed.** Now if I could only get rid of the glare... Here are the settings I use in Vuescan: Give them a try.
  11. If there are no holes where the staple should have gone, then it would be considered a production defect and not affect the grade. However, if there was a staple there and someone removed it, then that will kill the grade. It's kind of odd in your photo that there appears to be a rust stain right about where the staple would have been.
  12. I don't know if this has already been posted or if it is obvious, but does anyone else think that Earth 2 Wells is Zoom?
  13. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1zgSS020a79wuylMMlxhPA Very enlightening.
  14. Here are a few new additions to my Dawn collection.
  15. I'm assuming the blue lines on his face = Archangel?
  16. Only way to be sure it is original is to check the staple count. They did a reprint in 2014 that, on the outside, is identical to the original, except for the number of staples. An original has two staples and a reprint has 3.
  17. Wow! I have been looking for a single spinner rack for years and I have yet to even see a single one for sale in the wild....
  18. Is that dude in the back taking a pic of Harley's backside? I think so! And the guy getting the tattoo done! Where is his hand???
  19. Another one just sold, by the same seller, for $174 again....Looks like a different winner.
  20. Rai 0 CGC 9.8 "Glossy" is going crazy on eBay. Does anyone else find it odd that the last four sales, all by the same seller, sold for almost the exact same price at auction?
  21. That's an awesome piece. Here's the one I used to have : I think that is the one Suydam uses.
  22. If it is truly a negative (which I believe would imply it is an original?) of Lincoln, then it can't be from the 1880's. Lincoln died in 1865 and he was at Antietam in 1862. So wouldn't the negative be from 1862?
