Why are these "NG". They seem to be constructed essentially the same as a comic book, so why can't they grade them?

This one should. I can't believe I sold my other 9.8 and 9.6 copy for so low just a couple of years ago...

I don't think it will work well. I believe this is a CIS scanner, which will make slabs look blurry.You want a CCD scanner. The problem is they don't make many CCD scanners anymore, at least not for less than a $1000 or more. You will need to buy a used CCD scanner off of eBay, etc.

Careful with that sunlight so close to your books! I would either block out that window or get a much heavier curtain. You can get faded covers and tan pages in no time.

Just make this into a movie.

Search eBay for "sold" auctions under the "advanced" search tab, then sort by highest price first. I just did a search and some of these cards are going for stupid high prices. Seriously stupid high prices.

It was good. Not great. However, I'll give it some time to see what happens. I actually preferred the show that it replaced on Fox, "Almost Human".

Maybe the seller died. And no, I'm not "being funny." It happens. If you know the seller's name and address, search Google for an obituary.

I have the same book with the same white marks. I always thought that the marks are on the case or the inner sleeve. It's strange that you have the same exact problem with the same book. I would also like to know exactly what these white marks are.

Picked these up at flea market a couple weeks ago for under $30 total. Good times!

You have to pay to get grader's notes. I know, but CGC's website says that there are no notes available. I don't even have the option to buy them. I can see this with a 9.8 as there is not much to note. However, I would think an 8.0 would warrant notes to explain how they arrived at this grade. Hey Kaptain! Ok, I see what the main problem is with this book. Apparently, this book was kept in a comicbag for a *long* time. Long enough that that the plastic of the bag adhered to the front cover in places. As some point in the past, when the book was finally removed from the bag, the bag took a lot of color and ink from the front cover. If you look at the big "JOKER" logo, it should be a solid red. However, all those yellow streaks on the logo are from where color was literally peeled off the front cover. (And this probably happened years ago- if something like this occurred when one of the graders at CGC removed a book from a bag, CGC would contact the submitter. While this is not a common defect, it is one we see every once in a while in the grading room. It seems to be most common with DCs and Marvel from the 70s and early 80s and almost always affects the reds in the cover the most.) That's why, even though it looks *structurally* to be around a 9.4, it only got a VF grade. I'm sorry it didn't get as high as you were hoping for. Thanks for the explanation. That actually makes sense now that I compare the cover to others on the internet.

Just got back my coupon submission. I am very happy with three of them, but the fourth has me baffled. Woo hoo! Woo hoo! Woo hoo! What the? This one looked better than the Super Friends! Either CGC typed in the wrong grade, or there is something going on inside the book that I missed. However, there are no grader's notes??? How are there no grader's notes? There is no spine stress, the corners are sharp, the edges are sharp, there are no dents, bends stains, holes, etc. I almost want crack this out and re-sub because the difference in value between an 8.0 and a 9.8 is about $500!

Update: 08/27 - Scheduled for grading. 08/28 - Graded. 08/29 - (still) Graded (come on, don't make me wait the 3 day weekend to find out the grades! That is cruel!!!!) 09/02 - Still Graded. 09/04 - Shipped/Safe. It took about a week longer than expected...
