  1. Just clicked on that facebook group. I never realized how many commission horror stories there are. I've done 4 in the past two years and only one was finished anywhere near the quoted time (Geraldo Sandavol FTW!). It's actually turned me off commissions completely and sticking to published or finished work only. Hope your issue gets resolved Blastaar.
  2. A Netflix series with Locke and Key was just announced today. I think this is the third time it's tried to be a series, but there seems to be a lot of momentum this time. A contract was signed for 10 episodes. Considering the low print run of the first printing of #1, could be interesting.
  3. The feature I like is that you can square the image very easily so that you don't have to have that perfect camera angle with your cell phone. Oh and also it's free.
  4. I took this pic using cam scanner. It's oversized so won't fit in my 11 x 17 flatbed
  5. Well, not to leave you hanging alone in this thread. Here is my 800 pick up. As mentioned in another thread, I definitely paid a premium on it, but happy with the acquisition. Frank Cho cover
  6. I picked up a piece from that series! Like it as it shows Carnage in full beast mode! Double splash
  7. Owned - Love McFarlane, love Wolvie Grail of grails - can I borrow a half mil?? (have no idea if that's what it would go for) Sandman #1 art box / cover
  8. Wouldn't that be more on Dell'Otto for using existing unpublished work for a store variant vs. Marvel?
  9. Oh WOW! I picked up this drawing from Dell'Otto's rep in December of last year. That's awesome it's being used as a cover!
  10. Didn't want to create a new topic for a simple question so figured the newbie thread is a good place to post. I know older OA where the artist used markers is notorious for fading. Is that also the case with modern copic markers? I know Mark Brooks at Artgerm use a lot of copics. Just curious. Thanks!
  11. I'll answer that one as I'm the guy who picked it up from Anthony's site. Is it worth 33% more after a few days, no of course not. I figured there was a good markup I was paying for and not the first time I've done it. I missed out as I didn't see the piece for sale by Frank in time and couldn't get out to Chicago for C2E2 anyway. I was looking for a good Cho piece in parallel to the right Spidey 800 cover. Maybe the fact they intersected saved me some overall money! (reaching justification ) The plan is to keep this one for a good long while so we'll see how the value plays out.
  12. I have never heard of ebay bucks or rewards. Just never looked into it. I clicked on this topic earlier this morning to read the posts. I just checked my email and have an email from Ebay wanting me to sign up for the program. It was kind of unsettling. Pure coincidence or big brother? OA cartel expanding their operations? Hmmm
  13. Posted this on CAF yesterday but wanted to share it here as well. I wasn't too familiar with the comic story this cover came from, or the artist as he is an up-and-comer, but I loved the published cover when I first saw it and jumped on the OA when it became available. It's not too often I get a piece that greatly exceeds my expectations in hand from looking at the pictures. This did, with the amount of detail and the sheer size. It was never stated so thought I was getting an 11 x 17 piece, but it's 20.5 x 28! http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1462883&GSub=182593 Pheonix Resurrection #4: The Return of Jean Grey Singh Variant
  14. Got this from Mike Choi. Said he knocked it out during a few episodes of Homeland.
  15. Thanks! I actually hit Rob up the day it was published, and he finally agreed to sell it.
  16. Chew got me back into reading comics after over a decade, and looking up Rob Guillory's web page introduced me to OA for the first time. Feels good to be able to get this page from him. Final Image for the Chew Series http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1451783&GSub=182595
  17. Adding this as it's not an image you see of Spider-Man every day Amazing Spider-Man 793 Stegman Variant Cover http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1444228&GSub=182593
  18. That I can relate. I follow an artist on instagram and have a commission I'm waiting on. Original estimate was 8 weeks max, but now it's been 4 month. He has done a lot of other work including numerous person sketches and even the one a day inktober event. Yet I can't even get an update, except the first one three months ago. I just don't get it. The guy even picked the subject out of three choices and he was excited to do it.
  19. I just saw the pre-auction estimates as his way to try something new and see what people think, not a manipulation angle. Maybe that's my naivete. There have been only three articles posted so far with estimates, the earliest one on Nov 24th. I understand constructive criticism, but man....tough crowd.
  20. Ok one more.... Can't go wrong with a million guns. Punisher Armory # 9 Michael Golden http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1440527
