There were a few pieces I was interested in, but ultimately passed. Ive just bought too much this year. I still get excited for CAL and enjoyed looking at all the art, though.

Does anyone know the price of the 300 piece at Albert's booth?

The Frank Miller Punisher arrived yesterday. I was expecting it to be big, but it's huge. The image is 16x21, but the board is 20x30. Looks amazing in person

Frank's stuff goes an ez $10,000 all the time. In my opinion this should've gone for that amount minimum based on the size and quality.
I hope this went to a collector not a dealer. Someone who wanted it as a fan, and feels lucky they got such a good deal.
I'm the buyer of the Punisher piece. I was absolutely thrilled to win it for what I did. Well below my max bid. It makes me think "what if Frank Castle moved to Basin City?" I wasn't aware of the size until after the lot closed, so that was a nice surprise. Needless to say I'm not selling this one, so you won't see it on the attempted flip thread.

I wonder if they were trying for them, or just wanted the main signed cover. Do you know who won the signed cover?
I do not. I won the Vader cover. Which is the one i liked most, signatures or not. If the signatures on the others were on the empty space on the bottom, I would have gone after those and probably lost.

I won my first choice for a great price, IMO. Haven't decided if I'll try for anything else.

I'm a huge Skottie fan and I actually really like this piece and I agree 100%. It's a great pickup if you're a die hard Skottie fan, I think the price might have been a little low, but not much. I passed on this one since I was going after something else.

My goal for this year is to not buy a single piece. I've had an amazing collecting year and I think I need to take a break. I have five pieces paid for that I won't receive until 2023, so I hope that keeps me satisfied.

$36K for the Lim Thanos piece seemed pretty strong
$20K for the Tim Sale LH page with lots of bids....nice page command the big sweet $.
$53K for the McFarlane Spidey page is nice...not my fave page but has spidey in all 3 panels.
$34K for the Bagley Venom splash....is that good?
Other results did not really stand out for me. Campbell pieces went around $6K. No idea if that is good but seems kinda low?
I thought the Campbell Spiderman covers were a steal. In fact I won the blackcat/spidey cover and I'm over the moon. I'd be shocked if they didn't sell for at least twice as much originally. I've wanted a Campbell Spidey cover for years and really didn't think I'd ever get one. Especially for less than five figures.

What do people have against comicconnect? Is it only for their OA side of business? I've never heard anything negative about them with the only issue involving comic art is their own collection and how when they get a nice feature worthy piece for an auction they might try to buy it for themselves which hampers them in their OA auction efforts.
I have a problem with their shipping price. I just recently bought from them for the first time in this last auction. I got a great deal on the piece, but at checkout the shipping ended up being 40% of the final price. Still a pretty good deal, but man what a way to dampen a post win high

So did anyone get on Skotties commission list? I was debating on it. Between Jim Lee's charity auctions, of which I've won zero but I'll keep trying and Heritage closing soon I wasn't sure. I decided to send a message when the list opened, one thing led to another and now I'm waiting on a new Skottie piece. I can't wait to see what he comes up with.

They were moving fast.. I had it narrowed to three different ones and one disappeared, really caused me to make a move lol.
The x-men cover was the one I knew I wanted so as soon as I saw it I added it and checked out. I wasn't taking the chance of missing by looking at the other pieces. After it was successfully purchased I took a better look. 😁

I'm planning for this to be a lighter year. The only thing I'm really wanting are a couple Skottie Young covers. He's not selling them at the moment, but if he starts up again I'll be ready.
