This is getting graded in Chicago.
Soooo Nice!

Generally you don’t have this problem (cover creases) with DIsney italian comics of the 1930s and 1940s, since they were printed on an uncoated, heavier and a little porous paper. That Donald Duck however, appears a late issue, I see it has Jack Bradbury art, so I guess 1950s…?
Correct! It came out late 1952/early 1953.

Wow. It looks VF+, and the cover art is great! I vaguely remember the story, which I probably have read in translation.
Thanks! Through the slab, at the correct angle, you can see a book length crease on the bottom edge. Doesn't break color and it is extremely light but it is there. I bet it could be pressed out and the book would be a 7.5/8.0. Nicest looking "Fine" I've ever seen!

"OK, Tubby, here's the plan. We're gonna tie a rope around your ankles and lower you down in front of the enemy's cave...while you're holding a bomb. I mean, what could go wrong?"
I'm thinking that Tubby had a son named "Flounder". (Yes, I know its an obscure reference. Anybody get it?)

I have never owned either of those magnificent books!
P.S. Timely, that San Francisco copy is :cloud9. I've only owned one pedigreed Timely, D Copy Daring #11, and I sold it!

You can never have too many of these, right?
Good god, man! I'm glad my collecting interests are somewhere else!

An upper low grade reader
All of these books look like the grade and quality I love to buy!
Plus, who doesn't love damsels threatened by hooded Nazis?

Two of my favorite covers of all time! (thumbs u
Yeppers! I remember seeing that cover in an old Overstreet when I was a young pup and I never could get it out of my head! That one and USA #7 and #8 just really stuck with me.

The prettiest copy of this superb cover I've ever seen. It's been hidden away for many years but I thought you should see it.
superlatives fail me.

Hello!
I love Barks ducks so here are two of my favorite books. I'm still looking for one of these in above 9.0 so if anybody has one for sale
And, yes, I know about the 9.2 at Metropolis.
-
And here's another low grade lovely that I don't think I have posted here.
-
I don't normally go in for signed books but it was Stan Lee and I had what I consider the perfect book for him to sign: low grade so a felt tip pen sig doesn't hurt, already had someone else's sig so , yet strong enough to handle being tossed across the signing table.

This heatwave must be getting to me. I bought a Timely!
Big thanks to Ciorac for putting me into this sweet Powerhouse Pepper #1.
The cover has always fascinated me; so much going on!

Purdy white cover!

Man, that is a gorgeous book. (thumbs u
What is the grade?
I guess I've never bothered to grade it, but I'd have to say that it looks to be in the solid 6.something range

Show me your Timely's and I'll show you mine. Have a Cigar...
