  1. Wow! I've warned my wife that if one of these ever pops up at the right time and place its going home with me.
  2. They also would not specifically allow it in their terms of service.
  3. Since others are posting their wins.
  4. Not quite. Heritage will charge the consignor the full bidder's fee if the consignor's bid goes above the reserve even if there is no reserve. Basically, Heritage don't care who is bidding as long as they get their cut. See Heritage's terms of service section 13.
  5. Quick congrats to Mr Billy Parker for kicking me down to the number 4 spot on the All Select Registry set. I see you took the time to update your set and it is where it belongs now.
  6. Oh my lord and little catfishes! I want a 9.x copy of All Select #1 sooooo badly! Great books!
  7. the date stamp! I think with the incredible prices these books were reaching ten years ago it drug more copies out of closely held collections which in turn reduced the realized prices. It is possible that as these copies get sucked into long term collections that the prices will start to go back up until the cycle repeats. I do wonder if the $1,000 6.5 Uncle Scrooge #6 will cause higher grade copies to surface and in what numbers.
  8. Very true. I often wonder if the DD #26 CGC 9.2 highest graded that Metro had for a couple of years finally sold at the asking price, ~$5200, or if it went back into the original owner's collection. Extremely tough book to find in 9.0 or higher with only (5) 9.0s and (1) 9.2.
  9. Yellowish green cover to greenish yellow cover
  10. That's what I was thinking so I was surprised to find this at the price I paid. Looking at GPA I see that prices have been all over the place since 2003. A low of, supposedly, $1,131 in 2003 and a high of $10,755 in 2006 . A copy sold last year for $5,019 and I paid half of that this year. This must be a book that is really dependent on the market where it is being sold. Oh well, I'm happy and this is going into my "Pry it from my cold dead hands" pile.
  11. Well, I can confirm the B&V #40 went to a boardie. A few years from now I'll either feel like a genius or a sucker. I bid on a lot of stuff, what I thought were good, reasonable bids, only to see them blown out the water by 2 and even 3 times more than I bid. On a lot of books, the bidding was crazy and I admit I helped it along.
