  1. Yes. 7.5-9.0 are rather "reasonable". It's a DC after all One of mine as well. BTW I do not feel the book is cold, just rather low pop 9.2 and higher Books CGC Label CGC Total Avg. Grade 10 9.9 9.8 9.6 9.4 9.2 9.0 8.5 8.0 7.5 7.0 6.5 6.0 5.5 5.0 4.5 4.0 3.5 3.0 2.5 2.0 1.8 1.5 1.0 0.5 1. Showcase 55 (3-4/65, D.C. I feel it's 9.4/9.6 candidate, still a 9.2 would not surprise me as that deep purple background is a challenge.
  2. Used car salesmen, yes he does fit that bill. However I will say this; even with his likley upper 8 figures in holdings (depending on his current gambling streak) you can still haggle with him on a $299 item just like the old days. Most OCA's dealers just won't give that personal touch. BTW haggling in some parts of the world is considered sport and I was not being sarcastic I do think it's great Anthony still does it. Much more fun dealing with him than other OCA dealers especially one in particular from Massachusetts. As for Will, you simply will not find any dealer in any hobby that is more professional than him.
  3. If it works same as all other Marvel MCU TV appearances there will be a dip or more 30-90 days after the last episode is made available. Right now those purchasing have more $'s than ¢'s. Keep in mind Isaac was under contract only for the 6 episodes and nothing else has been announced on that front. One can speculate all they want about what will or will not occur but by no means is anything set in stone. IMHO sell 9.2's and lower NOW then buy back at lower prices later this year. P.S. Since i don't sell comics take my advice with grain of salt.
  4. 8.5 possibly a very weak 9.0 if this is a 9.6 then I want to know why all the books I've submitted that received 9.6 and 9.8 are not 9.9's or 10's
  5. 10 and 12 are outstanding Perez covers. 12 has been homaged at least few times. Sadly there will be demand increase for his prime covers in the next 1-2 years Btw i said undervalued. Which the gpa proves. To me at least 1,7,10 and 12 are classic covers.
  6. No one seemed to care about Anti-M during COIE when seen on every WB show. Now they will? IMHO lame character with an even more lame look. Featuring Anti-M as a cinematic main villian says to the world we cant compete with Marvel so we wont even bother to try. Looking for an undervalued original Crisis; 3,10,12 i feel fit the bill. Classic covers on two of them and 3 is the most difficult of the series to score a 9.8. All my opinion of course.
  7. The difference in Heritage's cut is minor. Plus they can advertise they have 2 AF's up for auction. They care nothing about the consignee, only their getting own cut as fast as possible.
  8. Power Sellers and large volume sellers are "rewarded" with lower eBay closing fees for 100%. I avoid sellers who have large amounts of feedback and are under 99.9 and rarely patronize even those with 99.9. The only times I've broken that rule I have had humdingers type issues. Not to say all is good with larger 100% feedback sellers either.... Most buyers even today do not feel good about giving negative feedback. My OPINION for every 1 negative feedback, there are 4 others who decided just not to leave any at all. That of course does not apply to infrequent sellers they are much harder to gauge and I will always avoid if lower than 100
  9. My guess is CGC/Blackstone Tactical Opportunities knows exactly what the cause of the Newtons Rings are and exactly the cost to fix it. They also know that only a small percentage will be returned. Thus nothing is done. As for reputation they know they have no serious competition* and Blackstone is not in this for the long haul. They will drain what they can make CGC look attractive on the balance sheet, sell it and skedaddle . *For CBCS defenders regardless of your opinion the fact remains CGC slabbed books carry a significant premium over equally graded CBCS. As long as that is the case they are not serious competition. The only true answer is another company to break onto the scene then play the long game by being so strict with grading it hurts, have lower pricing, and fast turn-around, then very slowly they will take the lead. Still that is a long game and they will surely lose money their first 3-5 years perhaps longer. Until then we can all enjoy BTO giving us a metaphorical middle finger.
  10. The only way to avoid the chronic problem that are Newton's rings is to avoid CGC slabbed books. CBCS does not seem to have those issues so there is a choice. If everyone who receives a book with rings sends it back perhaps they will consider changing things? To leave negative feedback given the small section of rings on slab were not likley seen by the seller are the actions of someone who is needlessly petty and vindictive.
  11. A business (or seller or salesperson) wanting someone one to purchase from them and saying anything they need to encourage that. What a unique concept :sigh
  12. As I said a few pages back Pop Culture Film Franchises collide! Great Book Godzilla + Avengers cover, Godzilla + Fantastic Four page 1 splash, most of the interior pages feature some combination of Godzilla + Avengers, FF, SHIELD. Simply one of my favorite all-time comics books. P.S. Was that only a tracking bid on your part? BTW Comic link really needs to get a website and system that is from this century!
  13. At one time I would have agreed with these books but the current state of affairs be it a high grade Amazing Fantasy 15 or the latest Money Shot (fun book BTW) are simply no longer handled carefully. A recent AF15 was noted recently on this forum to have plastic shards inside the case. If a high profile book like that is not treated properly without proper (or any) quality control then seems "Just give us your money and shut up" represents current day sentiment.
  14. I think the cut-off from CGC is 1985 or 1986 - arbitrary if you ask me.
  15. I do like them when the Editor and creative teams know in advance. That way loose ends are tied up. She-Hulk 25 is one of my favorite last issues, the corner box is "classic"
  16. #312 and #328 are just as "Classic" to me as #300 (#301 was the next months IMHO lazy homage to #300) or #316.
  17. The Story in Pizzazz 1 is 3 pgs and continues for many months. Star Wars 7 is the then Marvel standard of 17 pages. Star Wars 7 follows Han and Chewie's adventures immediately after events of 1st Movie. Pizzazz 1 follows Luke,Leih,R2D,C3PO adventures immediately after events of 1st Movie. Pizzazz 1 was on-sale 4 months before Star Wars 7. Both were written by Thomas and penciled by Chaykin
  18. As non-1st issue, non Star Wars, non Thundercats Star Comics go Census population is normal possibly even slightly higher than normal. Books CGC Label CGC Total Avg. Heathcliff 12 (11/86, Marvel Comics) Universal 15 9.06 4 3 3 1 1 1 1 1 Why oh Why is Hugga Bunch not at the Heathcliff level . I've sold maybe 12-15 comics in total over the last 25 years but I'd definitely take that kind of cash for Hugga 6 (last issue and only graded copy)
  19. Was able to get one recently .Now I can once again make claim I have the first extended universe appearance Issue includes a KISS article and pics as well! Also some Big John/Chan Tarzan
  20. Pizzazz #1 is first actual Extended Universe story. Star Wars 7 is wrongly attributed by CGC #7 is my personal favorite Star Wars cover. As for SW8 the 9.8 pop is lower than the books around it and appears a bit more difficult to score a 9.8 than issue 7 and 9 . Still very odd to me that it's so in demand, perhaps some talking head hyped it on some youtub channel? Books CGC Label CGC Total Avg.
