  1. Registered is very slow but highly unlikely to be messed with due to the internsl auditing. Personally i have more if chance of winning the current powerball than having a Fedex Package actually being delivered to my address. Yep its that bad. UPS and USPS no real issues in decades
  2. Same can easily occur with Fedex and UPS. Were the USPS sent Priority or Registered?
  3. YEP, That was planned regardless of strike outcome the only difference is those who are still working at that role in the biz will be paid more. My guess though is overall the Studio payouts for writers as whole will pretty much be the same. Finance industry may be crooked but the entertainment industry, not just in US but worldwide, is far far worse.
  4. 9.2/9.4 perhaps 9.4/9.6 with a quality 3rd party press
  5. I'd like to add, I've personally never met a Comic Book dealer who isn't totally making s*** up (aka Lying) when they mention "private sale" or "have a buyer who will pay amount being asked". If that's the case then why are you at this show/con trying to peddle it?
  6. Private Sales make Felony Tax Avoidance so much easier for dealers/sellers
  7. The CGC slab will get more eyeballs if it's pictured in an auction ,but due to trimmed likley not more in $ value of bids. The added expenses you incur may not be worth it. Makes for an interesting "case study"
  8. Would You Buy This Slab? Nope. I agree w/MattTheDuck .
  9. I mostly agree on pre 1990, but glut era books with high 9.8 populations, 9.6's at least to me are meaningless and worthless.
  10. IMHO any comic that requires a 9.8 to be worth more than slabbing costs is not worth slabbing to begin with. Of course about 1/4 of the books I personally submitted fall into that category , yep those books are meaningless as the hobby goes but not to me. Then factor in my DC Digest collection....
  11. As mentioned in post above that is most concerning. As a result might not score higher than 7.5/8 even with a well done C&P. If not stained with a high-end end C&P I was thinking 9.0/9.2 .
  12. yes the ol' 9.8 that should be 9.6 or a 9.6 that should be a 9.8, myself I feel the former is worse.
  13. Just to be clear, I don't like the lack of Colors in Snyder's DC films and I have not commented on anything else but Color palate. Thus my reference to "gritty" "moody" and "noir" is directed solely at the muted colors in Snyder directed DC films not anything to do with story or plot.
  14. To me Snyders color plate is not "Noir" or "Moody", its plain dreary and depressing. Too many like me it's simply a turn-off.
  15. Snyder's limited color palate did not help things. But you are correct he is just one in a crowd that deserves blame.
  16. Via Columbia House to about 1988. Those have been niche collectibles when sealed fo a while.
  17. Yes CGC sure does have bright scans, PSA does same with card slabs and Heritage now does with Comics. Perhaps I'm wrong but the brightness at those levels obscures detail. Purposely? I would very much like to know CGCs reasoning behind the degree of brightness used.
  18. 30 years = 1993. I'd wager under .2% of World population even knew what the Internet was then. The World Wide Web was not even available to the general public until April 30,1993. By early 1994 there were still under 3000 websites. After that it exploded. I'm very Curious to know what online businesses you were using in 1993. My curiosity is 100% genuine, please do not take as sarcasm, early internet and WWW history is an interest of mine. My apologies if your 30 years statement was hyperbole and it was really only 27 or 28 because in 1995 or 1996 time-frame the Internet and WWW landscape was exponentially different than 1993
  19. Scanned last week; I seldom purchase comics unless i can see them in hand first, but I'd been seeking this mesmerizing Classic Cardy Cover in 9.6 and then the 9.8 appeared. Luckily after I had it in hand it would have made my cut. One day when/if CGC has actual Quality Control again I will submit Silver Age DC's from my collection (mostly 1965-1968). I search too many years for high grade DC to take any chances at present time.
