  1. Doom Patrol seems to be the one property that did not receive a a jump or at least to a spike due to a TV Show. I for one say its apropos for DOOM PATROL to buck the norm
  2. The Bro, also called the Manssiere, is a bra designed for men to help support their upper bodies. It is connected in the back by velco and made the wearer feel lose and free to move. It was created by Cosmo Kramer, but the idea was originally conceived by Frank Costanza.
  3. Bob Storms' only friend is a buck. The more bucks he has, the more friends he has. Just give him your money and keep your mouth shut, he certainly does not care about being liked especially by you! “Your only friend is a buck and the more bucks you got the more friends you got.” — Warren Foster, The Flintstones, Season 1: No Help Wanted
  4. For nearly all NON Painted published comic art, encapsulating will succeed in transforming a flexible item not subject to damage with normal handling to an large rigid easily damageable object that requires rather gentle care. I have no desire to deal with the kind of attention and babying a large art slab will require for both handling and storage. Seems like a giant P.I.T.A. If CGC somehow believes there to be a market here I do seriously question if they are canvassing input from the the correct folks. Seems like a career end-er or at very least bonus reducer for those who champion it when it fails and losses pile up. P.S. Then there are Newton's Rings horrid enough of an issue with CGC Comics, that will be a worse problem due to the vast additional size of a standard published size or large art slab.
  5. Title says undervalued Bronze ASM's but 1st post seem to indicate it's not about that but refers to OPG. Is the topic actually Bronze Age ASM that OPG should break out from the pack? If yes then my question is; does OPG have relevance anymore other than as a dated reference guide for those over 50.
  6. All self-submitted, purchased back in the day at my LCS. Back around 2015/2016 time frame very few 9.8 Solar 10's on census and commanded ~$1500, even more than in the pandemic. To me Solar 10 is THE Valiant to have. Not a Harbinger fan myself
  7. Here's 2 and you are correct! Must have had too many beers then submitted them whilst in a stupor.
  8. knowing those involved i question if the page was even from the Moore story. 3/4 of the book was not. U positive it was from the moore orlando story?
  9. San Mateo Bros loves playing them Mind Games. Gives them a smug sense of self satisfaction. Yet unbelievably there is one Boston based OA art dealer who is far worse.
  10. On their site Reece has boatload of 202 in 9.8. Could be a decade or more until all those are absorbed into hobby unless they drop their price which they will NEVER do.
  11. The most important lessons to give to someone new to the hobby are 1) NEVER BUY FROM LOS BROS - consider any art they do have as not existing 2) All Waterson Art is fake! 3) Heritage will jack and shill every auction and it may even be legal in Texas. 4) See Rule #1
  12. Quantum computing is always 10 years away Perhaps Carlin was correct? “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”
  13. IMHO Whitman distributed pre pack comics are a different thing entirely from june 1979 and later direct sale marvels. They should not be lumped together.
  14. With collectibles grading is a way to rank something against another of the same thing. Take ASM 129 if you want a high grade copy you can seek out a 9.6 or a 9.8. However if you want the actual hand drawn original published cover art there is only 1. You cant get the ASM129 published cover in nicer or lesser condition as it does not and can never exist. Authentication is ok, but would need wide spread acceptance to curb the immoral, unethical and possibly illegal practices of the bros in San Mateo. I dont see widespread acceptance occuring for published OA. At best seems niche and even that might be a stretch.
  15. If you've read through this thread you will see that Valiantman and I are in total,, but respectful, disagreement. Over the importance of mentioning the Date (cover date; June 1979 for Marvel, Oct 1980 for DC). Both your posts help prove knowing the first cover date month for which every regular book in the Big 2's company lines had both a direct sale and newsstand is important.
  16. Its getting worse out there. Some select examples. CGC 9.8 Nova # 1 1976 Newsstand. First Appearance Of Nova (Richard Rider) White Pages https://www.ebay.com/itm/295898827593?hash=item44e4f1cb49:g:ObsAAOSwO2hk5zuu CGC 9.4 Amazing Spider-Man 178 Newsstand. Classic Green Goblin Versus Spider-Man https://www.ebay.com/itm/295898976822?hash=item44e4f41236:g:iYAAAOSwXA9k5~SJ At best it's lack of knowledge or ignorance but knowing Comic Dealers it's intentionally misleading and wreaks of zero Moral's and Ethic's. Which is why I feel the folks need to be aware of June 1979 cover date being the first month every Marvel regular size Comic Book had both a Newsstand and a Direct Sale is important. If they do then they won't pay more for Nova 1's or ASM 178's.
  17. Let her know it's far less cool than that here.
  18. Authentication fine. Grading is for all intent and purpose meaningless on one-of-a-kind original art.
  19. They may never get that lost business back either , incentives to consignees and buyers in form of reduced fees and free shipping may help. Knowing miserly Josh seriously doubt that will happen. Also while I hope Josh has learned a lesson in being penny-wise pound foolish with IT for the last 20 years, the stingy like him really aren't really capable of doing so...
  20. In court... Sothebys atrorney to some NFT bro; "You literally purchasing nothing, then when it increased in goint rate and you bragged and gloated about it. Where was you lawsuit then????" NFT bro; "Buh buh buh...we're 1% ers and are entitled by the Lord to make a large profit" Jury decision; STFU Rich boy NFT bro and beat it.
  21. While that sounds very reasonable and very logical only a complete moe ron would sell one stolen items that are one of a kind on ebay.
  22. They comes from a chicken and are edible. As in "I'll have an egs salad sandwich on toasted wheat bread"
  23. CGC has fixed the issue from their fiscal perspective. Their policy now is unless quickly reported in under 14 days after grading by original submitter they will do nothing. See how easy they made it by in effect saying its completly your fault for purchasing one of their slabs in the first place. I do expect soon they will addditionally bill a submitter for any and all debree and hairs CGC seals in a slab. New "Debree charge" to equal 10% FMV of a book.
