  1. sure, if you don't have an issue with not seeing those books for about a year. You'd be wise to check the turn around time. A lot has changed since you've submitted
  2. Thank you. That was really the main point of this thread. Graded spring 2019 Thanks for all who contributed to this thread (even my detractors 😂) case closed.
  3. While I'm still in the return process, I felt I should post this as a cautionary tale to those interested. For now, I will not name the seller nor the book until the case is closed, but here are the details. I purchased a buy it now slight restoration GA cgc book for well over 3k ( A-1 ,slight color touch, cover cleaned, tear seals , spine split reinforced) When it arrived I cracked it out since I'm not a big slab guy. Immediately after taking it out I noticed the cover had several squiggily cover creases that seemed rather odd. Having owned a few restored books in my day, I suspected this didn't seem quite right. Not being a restoration expert, I decided to spend the 120 and send it express to have it looked at. A week and a half later I was mortified to see it come back as slight/moderate pieces added to cover A-2. I immediately contacted the seller and initiated a return claim. Naturally the seller respond in a hostile way saying that he called CGC and they couldn't explain it and the seller accused me of swapping out his restored book with another restored book. Not wishing to get into a 'issing match with him, I simply told him I'm not taking a bath on this since it has nothing to do with me. Bottom line here is apparently some major issues have been overlooked in the grading process and I just wonder if it happened here, how many other times has this occurred. This is beyond troubling as apparently not everything is as it seems.
  4. express is simply a one and done. No value or fast track
  5. with their reputation? Highly doubtful
  6. picked up this little gem on eBay...quick press, grease pencil removal and bam! pretty as a peach
  7. in other words, see ya in 4 months pal
  8. looks like that was graded many moons ago. Recipient must have been tickled pink
  9. improper pressing from moisture. Can be reversed from the likes of smarty pants Joey but his turn around times are just as bad as CGC's
  10. C'mon man! Do the right thing like PSA and shut it down. Sure you'll lose some cash, but you'll garner more respect and profits in the long run
  11. trying an experiment and clicking on high dollar books and tax not showing up. clicked on a non comic item and it shows tax. Weird Maybe its a tax free comic week
  12. interesting hypothesis consider this is a 1940's era publication. May be some validity to your theory. Thanks for contributing
  13. appreciate the feedback. Problem is that I've generally been charged sales tax all along since eBay implemented that lovely process. Just curious but I'm content to let it slide this time
  14. Just bought a book for a good chunk of change and just assumed I'd be paying a few hundred in tax since I live in NY. Went to checkout and only charge was for the book. This is the second time this week this has occurred. Is it just a glitch or some tax loophole I'm not aware of that's being used. Mind you, not complaining but curious just the same
  15. probably just an age thing. at 53 , u young whipper snappers leave me in the dust on such matters
  16. clearly not a good time to be submitting books
  17. yes, nearly daily the turn around times are adjusted imo
  18. in my 50's now, but I recall in my early years yearning for the day when comics would get their due respect...well, 2021 is here and now they have major respect, but if your new to the hobby and unless you're a Silicon Valley guy or crypto guru, its looks like funny animal will be your collection theme indefinitely (no offense to funny animal folks)
  19. gee! Ya shoulda sent in in for grading and and it'd only take 6mo to get it back
  20. I don't know, but if it can improve upon the horrible turn around times, then I'm all in
