  1. as a 20somthing in the 90's when the crash happened, it had really nothing to do with the economy IMO , but rather with the mass production of drek and every comic was a "collectors issue". This isn't remotely close to that era, but what I see here is/was a speculation boom on post golden age books. GA will always be popular among us, especially us older guys/gals. This current weirdo economy won't subside until a new administration steps up assuming it isn't the status quo. Buckle up kids, its gonna be a long 2 years :(

Don't we all miss those endless ads back in 2000 when CGC used to run side by side pictures of the sale of a raw book for X dollars and then a picture of a CGC graded copy for XXX dollars.  hm

When I saw this result, it reminded me of those ads and maybe it's time for CGC to run another one of those ads OR NOT for this sales result here: (:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Adventure, Adventure Comics #33 (DC, 1938) CGC VG 4.0 Off-white pages....

Sold in today's Signature Auction for a "seeming at first glance" strong price of $2,040, but then definitely still not as strong as the $5,040 for this RAW RESTORED lower graded Apparent G/VG copy here:  :whatthe:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Adventure, Adventure Comics #33 (DC, 1938) Condition: Apparent GD/VG....

Actually, not really all that surprising since we saw the same type of scenario played out in their April Signature Auction where prices for graded pre-hero DC books simply did not performed as well relative to condition guide as similar raw entry level copies (with some even restored or Incomplete) that had sold only a few short weeks earlier in their Sunday/Monday weekend auctions.  (thumbsu

wow! stark contrast to the feb auction

  3. Ok, has anyone seen this. Ok, not the best -script and the reviews are pretty lame, but I think only a true comic nerd like myself would find this intriguing. Nobody wears makeup, and has really awful skin, but the realism really struck me as pretty authentic. if its not at your theater, u can view it on fmovies

Kinda on the level of Comic Book villains and I really enjoyed that, Anyway, just like to hear everyone else's thoughts.

  4. C.CS? the labels suck and the cloudy plastic appearance sucks on the cases. CGC has zero to worry about. Now, regarding the new up and coming competitor with the new UV resistant cases coming soon? Maybe, but those labels are the ugliest ones out there
