  3. Hi, all; I've consigned the following John Romita Sr CGC Signature books for sale at Heritage. The auctions end Sunday, Dec 20. John will be 91 in January and he rarely signs anymore, but when he does, it will cost you $100 just for the signature alone. Slabbing & shipping fees add up to another $50 so you'd have to pay $150 to get a book signed, slabbed and shipped, give or take a few bucks. These are offered at no reserve so the highest bid wins! 4. While I enjoyed Church and State a lot, the first 50 issues were the highlight for me. So...Bronze Age.
  5. You’re right. i confused it with the asking price for the Asm 74 cover
  6. This cover has been sitting on Clink’s site for years at $148K.
  7. It was bad enough having to tolerate magic and Pokémon cards in the HA Signature Auctions, but I was hoping we could avoid it on the OA board.
  8. My Mt Rushmore: Eisner - artist/writer/editor/packager/storytelling format visionary/king of the splash pages/influencer. Often imitated, never duplicated Timm - whether cute and cuddly, menacing and maniacal, femme fatale and otherwise gorgeous, nobody and I mean nobody, does animated cartoon books like Bruce Timm McFarlane - honestly, I can’t begin to explain the profound impact his art and his baby, Image Comics, has had on legions of comics readers, artists and comic art collectors around the world. The Toddfather! Shuster - without him creating the roadmap for all things to come, we would still be at the starting point. He is the Washington.
  9. that's a great question. If they were able to detect it, I think they'd make a note about it being a "married copy", but I wouldn't know if that would mean a change to the Universal Blue label?
  10. Thanks for all of the information to date, folks. I'm still curious as to the Publisher, and the reason behind why there was a need to indicate the need for a "True Market" price guide. Perhaps I'll share some comics prices on this board and compare with the 1974 OPG to gain some insights as to the price differences between the two? Stay tuned...
  11. The Bagley Spiderman 25 cover sold on HA nearly 3 years ago for $9K. Assuming its the same owner, the $9.9K sale on Clink is just about breakeven after he pays the 10% consignors fee. So, not really a good result. The New Warriors covers have seen significant demand spike over the past 3 or 4 years. The last time I saw covers below #10, they sold for slightly above $5K so this is a pretty good result, even after the 10% consignors fee is taken into consideration. If only someone had some Bagley Ultimate Fallout #4 pages at auction...man, those results would be shocking!
  12. Money also attracts dealers. That's why we've seen long-time comic book dealers dabble in OA...more and more of them every year.
  13. Its actually quite challenging to do without causing spine nicks to your ASM 238. A professional restorer explained the process to me several years ago, and there's more involved than one might think.
