  1. I second that. And A-level Demon bear pages are easily $10K+
  2. Hi, all; Over a year ago, a few posts indicated that collectors were looking for pages from The Badger and Green Lantern: Mosaic. Heritage has some pages in this week's auction and I thought I'd pass along the information. Note: I do not own the art...just trying to help fellow collectors. Ron Lim The Badger: Ron Lim and Paul Abrams The Badger #45 Story Page 17 Original Art | Lot #13469 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Cully Hamner Green Lantern Mosaic: Cully Hamner and Dan Panosian Green Lantern: Mosaic #3 Story Page | Lot #13438 | Heritage Auctions Hope this helps, and good luck!
  3. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the Comic Art Collecting Panel of experts (Will, Mike, Glen) haven't made any comments nor provided feedback to this thread?
  4. Looks as though this book finally sold for $2,550. However, looking at the bid history, there's some zero/very low feedback bidders.
  5. Amazing! both NY and NJ have a higher covid infection rate than Ontario, yet the entire Provincial population of 14.5mill is under a one month lockdown, and only essential services remain open.
  6. The wrap-around cover to #4 sold for $42K in April 2020 @ HA.
  7. Now that we’ve got prices on Sandman pages all settled, let’s discuss adding Ron Frenz ASM pages to the list. I think A level pages should be listed in the $3-5K category (the pages where he channeled Ditko as opposed to his later work on the title where he channeled Sal Buscema), with the exception of ASM 252 pages. They should be in the high side of $10-20K.
  8. I'm using a 10% rate based upon knowing how meticulous my friends were in selecting their copies at the LCS, immediately putting the books in mylar with backing boards, and the care and maintenance of the books in their storage environment throughout decades of ownership. I'm certain there are others who are sitting on multiple copies since the day the book was released, who haven't been as meticulous about the books they selected nor the maintenance thereof, and hence, that 10% success rate of achieving a 9.8 is greatly diminished. I hope this clarifies things.
  9. Hi, Luca: I stopped posting my collection on CAF some time ago. regarding who I purchased my page from, I will confirm that it is a dealer, and I paid the full amount in cash. I also purchased another page from the 1st mini series from another dealer in the high teens. why did I pay so much? Simple: 1. I think Death is the greatest character to come from the Sandman series, and nobody illustrated her features/attitude/quirkiness better than Bachalo. He captured her essence best. 2. it would be great to own an A-level page from Sandman 8 with Death, but at what cost? 3. I really, really like the pages that I purchased and there wasn’t any comparable pages available. As you stated in your initial email, these pages aren’t easy to come by.
  10. Hi, Luca: great analysis of Sandman page values by artist. I can confirm that I paid over $20K for a Bachalo Page from the 1st Death mini series, and it’s not even the best page from the issue.
  11. Over 30+ years, my buddies have moved at least 3 times each so factoring in the wear and tear of handling, transportation, and piling on box on top of box, I’d say it’s highly unlikely that more than 1 in 10 would would be pressed up to a 9.8
  12. Yes, I know of several local collectors with 10+ raw copies each. And even though they were cherry picked from our LCS, I doubt a single copy would grade 9.8, given today’s current tight grading. a newly graded 9.8 is truly an Uber-grade for this book. And while we’re on the subject, given the number of submissions, where’s the proliferation of 9.9’s, let alone 10’s? 🤔
  13. The Paul Smith UXM pages are indeed on the list at the $5-10K level, but I think that’s based on outdated information. I don’t think an A level page has sold for several years, and given the very high demand paired with low availability, I can’t see an A level page going for less than $10K now. It really should be bumped up to the next price level.
  14. For Hulk 6 specifically. Issue #5 is Kirby/Ayers but I think you meant issue #2, which is Kirby pencils/Ditko inks. I haven’t the foggiest idea about valuation for that issue...never seen pages from it for sale. on the TTA, Stan’s choice of inkers over Ditko was, well, unfortunate, and I think it greatly affects the price. I’d put a solid A level page at $35K.

  16. Looking through the list once more, I think we've missed noting the world's greatest artist, Sal Buscema. I'm surprised the Sal army has been so quiet about his exclusion from the list, but its safe to say that at the very least his A-level examples of 1st run PPtSS, Avengers. and Incredible Hulk pages should make the list. Just not sure at what price points.
  17. Honestly, I prefer to leave it to the experts, especially when it comes to pricing for an A-level New Mutants Demon Bear page.
  18. I searched through my emails and scans and all I could come up with is a very, very small image of the piece that I purchased from Dale, along with another scan whereby he digitally coloured the piece. The images were far too small to gain any insight as to whether they are the same or different from yours. However, I went to the Heritage Archives and found the piece I owned since 2003 was sold in 2014. It seems as though your piece is a reworking of the one from 2003, and I can see some differences in the Hulk's musculature, and also a notable difference in the foreground where my piece has a cockroach while yours has Banner's glasses. Indeed, two different pieces of artwork. My apologies for jumping the gun on your claim re: original ownership.
