  1. Yup, really nice Sinnott inks to minimize the Kirby 'squiggles' and make Spidey look as he should.
  2. For the throwback reference, I *think* you meant to say Ditko rather than Romita Sr, right? At least, that's what Frenz's first few issues of ASM were reminiscent of...his mid-to-late work on ASM was more closely associated with one of his major artistic influences, Sal Buscema. There, I said it. For those that love Sal's Spidey artwork, enjoy!
  3. I think the op indicated the focus was on ASM artists, and while Sal illustrated a handful of issues, here and there, I don't think he resonates as an ASM artist for most folks. If we're talking Spec Spidey, that's a different conversation and he's certain to be in the top 3 artists of that list.
  4. Um, given the timing of your announcement, perhaps some folks thought you may be shedding light on the allegedly suspect Lynn Varley binder of Frank Miller art for sale?
  5. 1. Todd McFarlane 2. Charles Vess 3. Steve Ditko 4. John Romita jr 5. John Byrne 6. Gil Kane 7. John Romita Sr 8. Frank Miller 9. Mark Bagley 10. Ron Frenz
  6. Hiya, Folks! id like to provide some information on this offering, if you’ll indulge me. 1. Spencer has sold artwork on consignment over the years from private collectors, and this latest offering of Byrne art is just that. 2. Spencer does not set the prices on consignment pieces. The prices are set by the consignor 3. REASONABLE offers will be communicated to the consignor for consideration 4. The consignment pages are not posted on Spencer’s site so if there’s anything you want to see, please email Spencer directly hope this helps 👍🏻
  7. In the pics, Kaluta seems so tall compared to the others. I haven’t seen him in over 10 years, but he must have been 6’2 or 6’3?
  8. Sonic is from Oklahoma, I believe. Known mostly for tater tots, shakes and hot dogs. Not sure if they’re most associated with Texas given how you can find multiple Sonic locations in many states.
  9. Can’t believe I forgot about whataburger
  10. Lol! I think Texas is the fast-food burger capital of the World. if I recall from my time there, in addition to McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy’s, there was: Hardee’s, Checkers, Texas burger, jack-in-the-box, and probably a few other hamburger chains that I’m forgetting!
  11. And here's a pic of the Al Williamson Secret Agent Corrigan Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 8-18-71:
  12. Nope, that's pretty strong content and should have closed slightly over $20K. and nope again, did not get this for mid-4 figures
  13. Here's the pic of the Al Williamson AND Gray Morrow Secret Agent Corrigan Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 2-9-71:
  14. My two Romita Jr consignments had a strong showing during live bidding, but they still ended at the very lowest of FMV. Could have done much better moving the pieces on my own. hopefully, the Williamson Corrigan strips will have a strong showing tomorrow 🤞🏻
  15. Yeah, that’s about the same % increase pre/Post live bidding that I need for my consignments to hit FMV 😂
  16. Aparo B&B 138 cover seemed pretty strong at $18K
  17. Live bidding starts in less than an hour. Good luck to those planning to bid! 👍🏻
  18. THere was a lot of Kirby art in this auction. A lot! I don’t keep track of Kirby sales so for those in the ‘know’, did the non-A level material sell above FMV in general, did it underperform or was it more or less ‘just right’?
  19. Nope, I prefer the CM cover over the Warlock cover
  20. Thought the Ditko ASM 10 page went cheap!
