  1. I think this is very easy to resolve. Just contact Peter at Paradise Comics and he should be able to fill in the blanks. He handled the sale of the Sim file copies.
  2. HI, all: I have two Spiderman prints for sale. Each print is limited to less than 100 copies and is hand-signed by John Romita Sr (inker), John Romita Jr (penciler), and long-time Marvel colorist, Paul Mounts. The prints are on 11x17 hi-gloss cover stock paper, in mint condition. Each print is $100 or take both for $175. Shipping to North America is $20 and the prints will be mailed flat. Contact me for a quote for exact shipping elsewhere. If you have questions or want to order, please contact me at: ytb83 at Hotmail dot com
  3. Given the slow but steady drop in price for this book throughout 2019, I don't see anyone biting on a 9.6 White on these boards for anything more than $4.5K. I bought several copies of ASM 129 in 9.4 and 9.6 last year and it seems as though I've overpaid. Hopefully, 2020 will see a strong turnaround for this book.
  4. Truthfully, it did. I came to the decision to purchase it based upon multiple factors, not limited to the following: 1. Availability of a good page 2. Current price comparisons (honestly, this was a dead end) 3. Feedback and opinions from other Sandman/Death collectors 4. Moderate price appreciation over the next few years 5. Availability of the page or cost of similar, as we approach the premiere of the TV show 6. Value (to me) of the effort of having to revisit steps 1-5 if someone else purchased the page
  5. 😂😂😂 im the buyer, and I pulled the trigger because I have been after a good Death page for the past few years. Supply has been very tight, and this piece was already at the 5 figure level prior to the TV show announcement. But the announcement did play a factor in the pricing and I couldn’t convince the seller otherwise. the pricing spikes to OA when a TV or Movie are opted is nothing new. Happened before (Guardians of the Galaxy, Ms Marvel, Preacher, WD, etc). I think we’ll see more of the tv/movie hype influence OA pricing, but not as much or as quickly as in comics.
  6. Hi, CC so I can vouch that this has/does happen on private purchases of Sandman and Death art. last month I finalized a deal for a Death page (1st mini series), and the TV hype was definitely factored into the price of this 5-figure page.
  7. For the pages you’ve described, $125 for a USM page without Spidey seems about right, keeping in mind the number of issues of USM he illustrated and the availability thereof. i can’t speak to his work/prices for his FF Pages as I do not keep an eye on that title
  8. I’ll have to disagree with you when it comes to prices on his ASM artwork and his Miles Morales Spidey artwork. They continue to rise. Perhaps you’re referring to his New Warriors art prices? I don’t follow the New Warriors stuff but others on this board do. Perhaps they’d be willing to chime in?
  9. Walt Kelly Pogo Steve Dillon Preacher D-i-c-k Dillon JLA and perhaps Frank Cho artwork in general, although I don’t follow his sales as closely as others.
  10. Comparing pay of the 60’s to present day is an apples to oranges exercise, where present day compensation may include: -character ownership & payment for usage thereof in multi media services, consumables, games, movies, streaming, etc. - medical/health care, by the larger companies. I don’t know the qualifications necessary for the creator to obtain, but it’s there -OA page returns/sales therof -compensation based on sales figures i think when you include all of the above compensation, you’ll agree the majority of artists working for the larger companies are relatively better off today than yesteryear. oh, and in regard to Kirby’s pay in the 60’s, let’s not forget the bonuses he received from Marvel. It was referenced in Alter Ego, but I recall Kirby received $10K one year, which was a substantial amount back then
  11. In 2019, I came to the realization that my top 3 covers are now well out of range: 1. ASM 100 (I gave it my best shot!) 2. Wonder Woman 199 (Jeff jones) 3. ASM 300 (I was in discussion with the owner when he sold it to Dinesh) so I decided to expand my focus on my top 4-6 covers, and I’ve had one success. Hoping to get the remaining covers on my list in 2020. additionally, I’ve decided to part with some covers I’m no longer attached to, and the same goes for several hundred pages of 1980’s and 1990’s Marvel artwork come to think of it, I think this is the first year that I will be downsizing my collection good luck and happy collecting to all
  12. Again, the responses are based upon the way the poll question was asked... list your top 4 ASM artists. if the OP asked for greatest contribution to Spidey mythos , most characters created/co-created, etc., I’m certain the poll results would be different
  13. Yup, I voted for Romita and McFarlane and that’s all. The OP asked us to vote for our top 4 ASM artists, not Greatest contributor of character, mythos or any other measure. so while I appreciate what Ditko has done for ASM, I find his artwork crude and primitive, and that’s why he didn’t warrant a vote on my Top 4 ASM artists. for full disclosure, another of my Favs, Charles Vess, was lumped in with ‘others’. While his body of work on ASM and spiderman in general, is limited, his artwork is ingrained in my mind as one of the Top 4 Spidey artists of all time. His contribution to the Spidey mythos= nil. But his artwork was stellar and far superior to Ditko
  14. Yes, and don’t forget to include the tidbits of work Sal did on Spidey Super Stories, too. i don’t think Saviuk is remotely close, unless you are including his work on the Spidey newspaper strip
  15. Funniest thing about this poll thus far is that somebody voted for Larry Lieber!!!
  16. Nope. Mark Bagley has pencilled or inked more Spiderman than anyone.
  17. On ASM, roughly the same amount of work as Saviuk, Leonardi, and Sal Buscema, which were all listed individually instead of being lumped as ‘others’ regardless, you asked for the top 4 Artists, and to me that doesn’t equate to quantity being greater than quality.
  18. This poll is not valid without Charles Vess
  19. + the criminal who killed uncle Ben, ‘cause without him, we wouldn’t have the background necessary to invoke the mantra of “with great Power...” also, wasn’t the “terrible tinkerer “ introduced in ASM 2?
  20. I used to post my big wins on CAF, but people contacted me, dangling significant cash for this piece or that one, to the point where I regretted selling. So now I rarely post a big win on my CAF in order to keep the big (ahem) Fish at bay.
  21. May have been true at one time, but I think Mark Bagley is the reigning champ
  22. I'm not particularly drawn to Michael's art style, but I am a *huge* fan of Michael Turner, the human being. I met him at several conventions and regardless of his health, he was always warm and friendly to his fans, engaged in conversation and always with a big smile on his face. He was a very generous man, to a fault, some may say, but he was one of the best persons I've met in this industry. R.I.P.
