  1. Absolutely gorgeous artwork by Heath in this auction. Hope you were able to acquire a few nice examples for your collection.
  2. I used to visit the Quincy location all the time. Tom, the manager, was awesome and I picked up dozens of early silver age Marvels at great prices, along with an occasional page of original art. The store in Harvard Square was also pretty good and they would have a decent collection of Silver and Golden Age books every so often. I think Benn (yes, that’s not a typo) was the manager for a long time. I’d hop around the corner to the Million Year Picnic and chat with Tony (the owner) about selling me his silver and Bronze Age OA collection. It seemed as though he was on the verge of saying ‘yes’ every time I spoke with him, but then he’d always sell a significant comic book and pause on selling the OA. the store in Brookline (Coolidge corner) didn’t have a lot of decent silver or golden age books, but they did have the hot bronze and copper age books. I was fortunate to pick up ASM 129, Xmen 94, GS Xmen 1 and hulk 181 from that location. hope things turn around for them!
  3. Back in ‘96 or ‘97, pre-eBay, I would pick up the CBG (Comic Buyers Guide) where comic warehouses over ordered and were blowing out NM+ unread copies for 59 cents each. ASM 365 was a bit more expensive at 69 cents a copy
  4. I used to have an entire long box of this book! 🤣
  5. $6.8K for the McHulk page isn't really a good result considering its from Hulk 340
  6. 1. To grow the good by Continuing to purchase one or two significant covers. 2. Had a great opportunity to pick up a MCSPIDEY cover in 2022, but a friend really wanted it and asked me to stay in the sidelines to avoid a bidding war. And so I did, reluctantly, and unfortunately for the seller, it would have sold for at least $100K more. Afterwards, I realized a McSpidey cover is the final missing piece in my collection, and had I bid and won, I would be done with collecting OA today. Truly, my biggest regret in my 22 years of collecting nerdy ink on paper. This goal would supersede goal #1 3. Sell more pages in a continued effort to build a war chest for items 1 and 2 and whittle down my collection to 4 portfolios 4. Not really a collecting goal, but I’d like to resume hosting OA get -togethers at my house with a bunch of local collectors. It’s always fun to look at artwork by artists/titles you don’t collect, and the accompanying stories that coincide with purchases/trades thereof. There’s some incredible OA collections in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and I’m looking forward to seeing all of the new additions post-COVID
  7. HI, all; I'm hoping to purchase 1 or more early Hobgoblin cover appearances from ASM (not interested in his appearances in other Spidey titles). In particular, I'm looking for the following covers: 245 249 250 251 261 Please DM me.
  8. Fortunately, I was able to accomplish both goals this year. I will admit that Goal 2 was much, much easier to achieve than Goal 1.
  9. Blueline art or pencils and inks on separate boards = avoid like the plague
  10. How did you find out the inks were done after publication?
  11. Although the hype has died down recently, Jimmy Olsen 134, featuring the 1st teeny, tiny irrelevant appearance of Darkseid on a tv monitor
  12. I feel very similar about Kirby art, except that Kirby’s art was crude, ugly, and horribly composed. And let’s not forget all of those ridiculous squiggles on peoples arms, legs, and torso’s…what the heck were they supposed to resembled? Muscles? Not a chance!

  14. I believe it was in December. additionally, there would be very few, if any, Copper Age books purchased for 9.2K last year that would still be worth $9K or more today
  15. The $9.2K sale for a 9.8 blue label with white pages? that sale occurred in 2021
  16. Without a doubt, Marvel’s First Lady is Death (Thanos’ lover). she’s been around longer than any of the other options
  17. I find that CGC has become increasingly harsh on grading for books with light to moderate tanning. Likewise, any books that have a ‘dirty’ back cover (nothing sexual, folks. Get your minds out of the gutter) also get hit hard by CGC.
