  1. I don't think there's anything odd about it at all. Some folks like to keep their collections to themselves and that's fine. Others like to share their collections, and that's fine too. We have a very active collecting community here in the greater Toronto area and I've hosted many OA get togethers at my house where I would often show pieces that were not on display in my CAF gallery. Furthermore, I had OA that I only showed to a handful of close close collecting buddies, but I also had OA that I had been collecting for a decade that I never shared with anyone, and I'm talking about fellas who travelled with me to out of state/out of country shows. While not on the same level as Hulk 181, nobody knew that I had been trying to put together the complete interiors to the Miller/Romita Jr/Williamson Daredevil Man Without Fear Mini-Series for a decade. I had nearly two-thirds of all the published pages before I lost interest and shifted my collecting focus elsewhere, but the point is that I never mentioned it to anyone as I felt that it was a personal and private endeavor.
  2. Not going to any cons for the foreseeable future...this COVID thing still ain't over...not by a longshot!
  3. I miss the days when old-time dealers used to call such page quality as 'bone white' pages
  4. The 9.4 San Francisco copy of Cap 1 in CGC 9.4 (OW/W) went for $915K nearly 2 years to the day so I'd say the 9.8 Allentown copy would easily shatter $1M, and most likely $2M.
  5. Hi, all; Once again thanks to everyone who purchased one of my affordable pages on Heritage last week. I'm happy to see these affordable pages getting snapped up in a transparent, public forum. Just a reminder that I am running low on these pages and you'll notice a decrease once again in the number of being being offered weekly so just a head's up: if you've been waiting to buy a page, you're running out of time. Up for auction this week on HA, i've got a nice Bagley Venom page, a Chen Iron Man pages, and a great Garney Moon Knight page. All auctions end Wednesday, July 28. Here are the direct links to the pages at auction: Bagley Venom #164p4 Great sequence featuring The Shocker! Here's the direct link to the page at auction: Mark Bagley and Scott Hanna Venom #164 Story Page 4 Original Art | Lot #49011 | Heritage Auctions Sean Chen I Am Iron Man #2p28 (2010). After ripping out Tony Stark's heart (OK, the arc reactor from his chestplate, to be precise), Obadiah Staine takes flight in his Iron Monger suit to finish the job. Sean Chen and Victor Olazaba Iron Man: I Am Iron Man #2 Story Page | Lot #49042 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Garney Moon Knight #28p11 (1992): Intense page from the popular Scarlet Redemption storyline featuring Moon Knight, the Fist of Khonshu, and Moon Knight's brother! Ron Garney and Tom Palmer Marc Spector: Moon Knight #28 Story Page | Lot #49092 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Have a look and pick up a great page or two at prices that won't break your wallet
  6. West, I can appreciate your love for Ditko Spidey, but methinks you’re really stretching it by trying to state that both pages are on par. My 2 cents.
  7. Looking at the page more closely, there are only two panels where you can see Spidey’s face, and two panels show Spidey’s backside (one of which has a teeny, tiny image of Spidey) overall, a nice page, but not from a ‘ classic’ issue and personally, I prefer the ASM 34 page which sold a few months ago for $144K. It is the superior battle page
  8. Yeah, they've been predicting it for the last few years already. its not news.
  9. Summary won't do it justice. Suggest you read it all, but if you're in a crunch for time, read the last page of the thread:
  10. The Gaiman Morpheus sketch is pretty neat and adds to the pages' overall appeal. The page has a lot going for it (Season of Mists storyline, head sketch, gatekeepers, Jones art, Sandman series in development presently), however, its also missing a primary (or secondary) character from the series to make it more desirable. If you're not in need of immediate funds, I'd say its a $10K page to the right buyer this month with a word of caution that the valuation may change rapidly.
  11. Yep, already mentioned in the Original Poster's first message.
  12. There was some grey area about that, but it has since been resolved through the combined efforts of several OA collectors along with some Q&A's with Janson. The information was shared in the OA section a month or two ago.
  13. The additional fees for additional notations is nothing new…it’s been happening in the sports world for decades.
  14. The upcoming AF15 cgc 9.6 auction will bring even more attention to this (and related) hobbies
