FINAL FOUR - Semifnals - Sketch Cover Contest
RadiantGraphix replied to UnboxingTreasures's topic in The Signature Room
I told Kael Ngu that he was in the final four and he was shocked that he was in "such an elite group of artists" ... I told him to stop being so modest. ;-) -
Shout out to Doug and James with ComicSketchArt for a great SDCC topped off with this gem. Obviously a huge thank you is also do to Adam and Allison for making a collectors dream come true. ... such a gem.

Fresh back from CGC today... Old sketch I got a few years back but never shared... Finally added Starlin sig. Gonna miss seeing Perez on the con circuit announcements.
-
Just to be clear... DO NOT crack the slab on your own! You must take it to the CGC booth while it's still inside the slab. If CGC is NOT there then you will need to find a CGC Sig Series approved facilitator and have THEM crack the slab for you. Non of this can be done without a CGC employee or representative present. Then after it's been opened you can have that CGC emp/rep take it to get signed with you.

... if he makes it AT ALL... he canceled the two prior appearances, no? I’m worried about his health.

I remember the defunct sketch op with Mattina a few years ago.. really disappointed with the outcome of that, but when I saw the pieces a few people received, I felt like I really dodged a bullet. THIS ON THE OTHER HAND is all sorts of juicy goodness!!!!!!!!!! Amazing. Congrats.

Is Kelley Jones even scheduled to appear?!?

Ugh... where were you like 3 weeks ago! :-(

Midtown verification for Qualified SS?
RadiantGraphix replied to Kahless2005's topic in The Signature Room
It would have to be singed at a current or upcoming signing that they are hosting. You would NOT BE ALLOWED to just walk in with a book from an old signing even if you have a COA attached and be allowed to submit it for Sig Series labeling. It would come back as Green Label still. -
Midtown verification for Qualified SS?
RadiantGraphix replied to Kahless2005's topic in The Signature Room
You will get this. It's impossible to get a Yellow Sig Series label with anything other than a witness/facilitator. -
I believe his current signature fee is $150... but could be lower.

The Batman pieces were bland compared to the Joker pieces a couple weeks ago. THOSE were worth every penny the final bidder paid.

Fingerprint.Ink has returned to the chat boards
RadiantGraphix replied to fingerprint.ink's topic in The Signature Room
Cool book... but meh. What else you got? -
Don't be obtuse... the two sides in this discussion would have been the collectors and CGC (or even a dealer). A "no win-win situation" would have been that because of this database information collectors would get smacked with silly rationale from dealers saying "there are only 10 copies of this book with XYZ's signature so there is a premium up-charge for rarity" (like some already do with random non-keys that are the "only three other SS on the census") and CGC having to add extra work to their grading process and maintain an entirely new database section or have to work through the millions of previously graded slabs to create said database in the first place. I think the grassroots campaign is the only option and even it would be highly inaccurate due to a general lack of consistent participation.

Yes, that is what I meant by "this" ... and I like the idea of a "loose" database format where we aren't so much concerned about the exact details of which creator signed which specific book and on what date. I like a sort of "verified tally" of how many CGC SS Frazetta slabs exits, how many George Lucas slabs are out there... etc. I could be tracked with slab numbers so if people wanted to click on a number and get the census info (a la GPA's format), then that sounds best. I would recommend teaming up with an existing service like MySlabbedComics to add a section to the site where there is a name tracking database, or something along those lines. People could add their slabs and put the information in themselves, OR other users could tag a slab with specific creator information if the user didn't enter it. They already have the site and a TON of resources to make it happen.

I’m still not convinced this is a good idea. I have hesitations about how the information would be a) be compiled without CGC’s help, and b) used to make books more (or less) valuable. I dunno. Seems like there is no win-win situation here for CGC and at best it’s win-lose for collectors. Maybe if the database was just a collection of creator/signature names that listed how many times their names appear on a book, not what specific books they appear on per se.

I concur, this looks legit. Has all the appropriate marks for a signature from that era.

I have seen thousands of Stan Lee signatures over the years... this one looks fake to me. there are a couple places to look if you know, and this one is missing a couple of common traits. Sorry.

Khoi Pham Sketch Opp - 2019 - SOLD OUT
RadiantGraphix replied to Par2ch's topic in The Signature Room
Is there an add-on price for additional figures? Or just single figures this time?
