  1. Rob Liefeld just announced that he will honor CGC facilitators at this show!  He is doing it for the people who are adding Josh Brolin and Zazzie to the books later and whatnot... any chance of getting my NM87/98 signed (without the actors, just Rob) so I can gat Fabian and Todd added at a later date?

Love the jock Batman books , my 2019 goal is to get a bruce Timm joker sketch  to complete my trinity

You need to contact Albert Moy.  Bruce said he is "not doing another sketch at a convention ever again" when I saw him at SDCC.  HE specifically told me to contact Albert and that he would "ONLY do full color pieces from here on out."  Albert had 3-4 sketch covers from previous work at his table, but wouldn't take any requests for future shows.  :-(

  3. It was a facilitator that has worked indirectly with Stan in the past so he knew what Stan's max should be like now days. Not sure if he's gonna be the one "long-term" but who knows with all the back and forth still kinda going on.  All I know is that I would NOT want to add a Stan signature to any of my books any time soon.  At least not to "keys" or valuable variants.  Not until I see some of the slabs that are coming back since late-Spring or the end of June.

  4. At his most recent "home signing" the facilitator broke the signing down into chunks of 400 books a day - a paltry number compared to his typical signings a year ago.  I heard a rumor that even the facilitator had to STOP THE SIGNING part way through the first 400 copies because "the signatures were so bad that he felt like he couldn't possible let customer's books get ruined by such terrible and unrecognizable signatures."  It appears Stan's macular degeneration is worse that we thought.

  5. I didn't think Jim Zub was going to be at SDCC?
When will these be signed and sent for grading?

SDCC 2018 EXCLUSIVE - This will probably be one of the biggest "gets" at the show.

MANGA REALIZATION #1 (one-shot) s/s Jim Zub (and MAYBE Miyazawa & Herring---that would be gravy)  BUT!  Your s/s 9.8 book will come with the Manga Samurai Deadpool SDCC exclusive from Tamashii Nations.  - $295

  6. I still don't think he's going to allow CGC.  I'm guessing (without an official announcement yet) might be limited to only first prints, no posters, no figures, and NO trades.
I got a beat up 141 I'd be willing to send in for a sig.

...but the rumours going around that he will only sign Trek books are false.

Special package info is coming soon.

So much for “he doesn’t believe in charging for his signature” ... I guess that doesn’t include “special packages” ... LOL

So cbcs offers a signature verification option which is their Red Label. How come CGC has not looked into something like this?

In todays Market, if I have a Spawn #1 signed my Todd, if I had cbcs red label would it sell for a higher price than if I had it green labeled?

Just recently CBCS and PGX got caught “authenticating” FORGED sketches and signatures. The artists themselves even put the items on blast via their Facebook pages. BleedingCool had a couple articles about forged sketches that got “certified” from Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee, and others!  It’s a very IRRESPONSIBLE way to handle collectibles. It’s not worth the money or risk. I’d stay FAR away from “Red Labels.”

Are “notes” typically added to the label? I’ve seen convention and dates added, but not a “defect”.

At first glance I thought it read as if it was a witnessed jack Kirby.

There is a reason Jack Kirby in “quotes” and doesn’t have a date next to it. The defect is the “writing” note underneath the witnesses signature declaration. The more you look at green labels the more you’d understand how this works. It’s very specific and makes sense if you’ve seen a lot of Signature Series labels and compared them to Qualified Series labels.

I called CGC and that is not considered a witnessed signature.  The artist has to sign in front of the CGC witness.  A little silly if you ask me.  If the witness walks with you to the booth and the artist is the owner of the booth that should work.  Oh well.

If you think about it, it’s not silly at all. The whole concept of the Gellow Label sog Series is that someone has actually witnessed and verified that the signature on the books was done by the person themselves. If the person isn’t there to sign it or testify that it is, in fact, their signature, then why bother having a witness at all?  They should just take the creator’s employee’s word as fact?  Additionally, the label specifies the date that the book was signed, so what day is that on a pre-signed book with no witness and the person who signed it not even there to vouch for it?  There is a green label for a reason. Anyhow, that’s just my (and 98% of other people’s) opinion.

so if SDCC tickets, are a bust, and no one lists a facilitator for signings, do you think I could bribe CGC facilitators to get some books signed for me? I'm mostly looking for Geoff Johns books not for any of the big named celebrities or anything. Hes the main reason I'm going all this way, and I shall not be denied!

Here's the thing (in my experience) with Geoff Johns... he cancels a lot.  When the whole Rebirth thing happened, there was a private signing set up for some of the facilitators.  Geoff "had to leave early" and very few people got their things signed.  I waited for almost a YEAR to get my ONE signed book back from a facilitator because they had to chase Geoff down at other events to fulfill their requests from customers.  And I used a MAJOR facilitator to get the signature.  It's a process.  I would reach out to @dscott, @Rich_Henn, and @Par2ch to see what can be done or for tips at the very least.  I'll PM you too.
