  1. yep. Not meant to be and there was a reason I was not able to buy.
  2. That and just my bad luck to miss the CGC 7.0 and CGC 6.0 copies that were available last year but due to silly circumstances I could not bid. Like being stuck at work longer than I should have been and not being able to connect to the internet to place my bid, to finally getting to log in to discover it had sold less than a minute ago.
  3. send this reply: "Ok I will take it. Please send the $3000 and the comic to ______________"
  4. There will always be those that take advantage of the kindness / willingness of others and abuse it.
  5. the idea has merit. It is likely to heavy a burden to be incorporated within the boards current software/database though. So who would create it, and then "police" it?
  6. my alley is exit only thank you.
  7. Bunch-A-Weirdos A few pages of the OP discussion followed by 10 pages of bafoonery! b.a.w. !!! b.a.w. !!
  8. grats! I looked at that book. I am trying to upgrade the copy I already own and I am finding an upgrade to be .... elusive.
  9. If you are selling your collection, then there isn't any "keep-at-all-costs" in my opinion.
  10. And they should be. Disgraceful behavior and it should be outed and made very public. Otherwise they will victimize another.
  11. some feedback from an artist that does commissions: I dislike the formal written contract, but that is mostly because I don't need one. I have never not delivered when I said I would in over 30 years. Reading some of the examples posted just shock me. How can anyone that calls themselves a professional delay for so long? Baffling behavior and is hurting the entire industry. We need to get them on "Catch A Contractor". On the other hand: The formal written contract has some merit in that it can protect the artist. Example: getting a commission where the subject matter is discussed and then the person asking for the commission says "do whatever you want. I don't want to see it at all until it is done!" Sounds to me like I have full creative freedom and as long as I am delivering a quality page then all will be satisfied. Then you send a pencil sketch just to "wet the appetite" and then the buyer wants changes. Time is money. While I can see some form of contract could be beneficial I am not sure how it can apply to art which is so subjective.
  12. THIS I don't blame Rian Johnson though: it is all Disney for doing a rehashed story in The Force Awakens, then allowing RJ's The Last Jedi.
  13. I like the idea of a brittleness scale I also would like to see a graphic that indicates where the brittleness is on the label. The back of the label could be revised and on the back include: -Graders notes -Any other important information such as the proposed brittleness graphic with areas of brittleness indicated.
  14. The hard plastic holder is a top loader of golden age size that you can buy here: http://www.bcwsupplies.com/type/toploader/golden-comic-book-topload-holder The bag and board for the comic should then be a Mylite 2 of silver age size, and for best board use an EGerber fullback. If this is just for personal storage the Top loader is overkill. I use the top loaders when displaying books at comic shows. I put books that I lay flat on the table into top loaders to keep the books alive as thoughtless and uncaring people lean on them or put their heavy bags/backpacks/purses/whatever on top of the books and ruin the books by adding creases or popping staples.
  15. I am truly happy for you that you enjoyed the film!
  16. proves Disney purchased a property that will make money. To quote Mark Hamill: "remember kids, it doesn't matter if your movie is good only that it makes money."
  17. Re Holdo: One thing about her sacrifice that still makes no sense to me is why is her sacrifice not earlier? Why does it have to wait until so many Rebel ships and forces have died? If that was her plan that she couldn't tell Poe ( I can understand not wanting to tell him that information ) why couldn't her maneuver have saved a lot more Rebel lives?
  18. Maybe Disney will get this guy to write the next film as with these small tweaks to the story he crafts a far better story that makes more sense:
  19. Happy for you. The positive for me is I have a whole bunch of 9.8's.
  20. I also struggle trying to say positive things. I still cant think of them.
