  1. suddenly it is worth travelling to the buyer to do a cash deal in a bank or in a police station.
  2. Not for me, but I didn't acquire any books! The Berk Buzz made Boardies Buying Berk Books Berk Berserk!
  3. I love your comic box illustration. You have inspired me to do my own!
  4. actually money would make the trip easier, as to travel across the river form of Styx you had to give a coin to the dead to pay a toll so you could ride on the ferry.
  5. Now you have added more gaps that need to be included in the great analysis made by SteppinRazor. The first is Knowledge gap. I can't make offers or even look at the collection namisgr is selling because I had no knowledge of it. The second is research gap. I might have learned of the namisgr collection had I devoted more time to searching and reading the forums and other sources to collect the information. This leads directly to the next gap which is the Time gap. Devoting more time to research would increase the knowledge but time is a finite parameter as there is only a finite amount of time that can be associated to research. Time can also be said to have a significant cost as per the theorem Time = $. Therefore $ attributed to time is dependant on the next gap. The 4th gap is the budget gap. How much of the $ a potential buyer has to put towards time and we can at this point add in the cost of the comics both individually and per longbox or per collection depends entirely on how much the potential buyer has budgeted for the purchase and the time it takes to do research which enhances the knowledge. How much a buyer can budget for purchasing is influenced by a further gap. The Quality gap. the namisgr collection would seem to be a collection of quality as an example single book has procured the highly desired 9.8 grade. Therefore the budget in this case would need to increase as opposed to a collection of what can be called drek would be valueless as per the discussion in a different part of this thread and would require no budget as it could be obtain for no $. A 6th gap that needs to be addressed is the location gap. It can be argued had I been in the right place at the right time I could be that buyer that obtained some of the namisgr collection but location is vast and namisgr and I are separated by multiple thousands of miles. This analysis can lead to additional gaps.
  6. I am also wishing I had bid more on the Planet I wanted.
  7. Is no big deal, I really am happy it went to a friend. I already have a 5 as well, I am always looking to upgrade. Grats!
  8. Ok I should say that I no longer own a lot of these "Red Outfit women in distress" books. Ultimately these led me to Planet Comics, and I traded/sold most of these books ( not all ) for Planets. I branched out from just red dresses to different types of outfits that contained red, tops, skirts, etc but tried to maintain the woman in distress theme. Eventually I also branched out to other color dresses, including white, green, blue, yellow, etc. There are hundreds of books, and I could have posted more here. I am sure you get the idea. red bikini count? It does for me!
  9. I am both happy for you and sour that I lost the #5. Well I take solace in knowing it went to a good home.
  10. I feel this tells the tale for many of the books in this auction. Many were surprises to say the least.
  11. I love that cover. I decided to buy the recently released Dave Stevens art collection books: his drawings of women/ portraits and his comicbook stuff. I highly recommend them.
  12. Love this stuff! Those Dave Stevens Alien Worlds covers are fantastic.
  13. and a side by side comparison of the copy you already have so we can see the color differences.
  14. Great book, I love the color that red is fantabulous
  15. Absolutely. The #5 was a lot higher than I expected, as was the 18 which I guess can be attributed to that wacky coloration it had.
  16. I do have a 9, mine is a 6.0. Nice pick up on that #6, how cool to own a Planet piece of this wonderful Jon Berk collection AND it says Larson on the label as well.
  17. Ok, it is time for Planet Comics talk. Any of my board homies win anything? The prices went crazy! I was hoping to get the CGC 3.5 restored #5 but it went higher than the 6.0 restored, and nearly as high as the CGC blue label 4.0 The 5.5 Larson copy of #6 intrigues me, makes me wonder what my 6.5 Nic cage copy might sell for. 14 I expected a big price, same as the 15. The 18 surprised me, I guess the weird coloration copies are rather valuable as $2900 is double what I paid for my blue label CGC 6.0
  18. Winter Soldier is still #1 for me. I like it better than the Dark Knight.
  19. My only win so far, and it is likely to be my only win the way the prices on books have been.
  20. I honestly think that is what is going to happen with THAT collection I have talked to you about. The owner isn't selling, and likely neither will his sons.
