  1. Absolutely. The #5 was a lot higher than I expected, as was the 18 which I guess can be attributed to that wacky coloration it had.
  2. I do have a 9, mine is a 6.0. Nice pick up on that #6, how cool to own a Planet piece of this wonderful Jon Berk collection AND it says Larson on the label as well.
  3. Ok, it is time for Planet Comics talk. Any of my board homies win anything? The prices went crazy! I was hoping to get the CGC 3.5 restored #5 but it went higher than the 6.0 restored, and nearly as high as the CGC blue label 4.0 The 5.5 Larson copy of #6 intrigues me, makes me wonder what my 6.5 Nic cage copy might sell for. 14 I expected a big price, same as the 15. The 18 surprised me, I guess the weird coloration copies are rather valuable as $2900 is double what I paid for my blue label CGC 6.0
  4. Winter Soldier is still #1 for me. I like it better than the Dark Knight.
  5. My only win so far, and it is likely to be my only win the way the prices on books have been.
  6. I honestly think that is what is going to happen with THAT collection I have talked to you about. The owner isn't selling, and likely neither will his sons.
  7. One of those racks had those pockets on it, Dave took some time and used my dremmel to cut off all the digest holders. I think it was a good choice, his spinner looks fantastic now.
  8. I am not sure why they didn't produce since the first show. We definitely had small sets in them that Edmonton Expo (2013). I think it is a combination of things, economy has turned downwards since the 2013 show. You can see what we had in them in these pics I took. While I don't think we can claim that we were the first to offer sets, that was the first show we did them and they were a hot commodity and it was because we had just bought that 37 long collection that had lots of books that were not easily found.
  9. strong price for the Captain America comics 3 cgc 6.0
  10. I love buyers with lists as well but they are becoming less and less.
  11. Golden age Venus covers she is sometimes in white, but may not have the gothic feel. I have a similar collection but the damsels in distress have to be in red. There are a LOT of red dresses.
  12. could use his amazing ability on my own bathtub. Maybe when I get the page I will try it...
  13. Can I detect trimming from a picture? Not really. In hand, most of the time yes. I can often see a difference in the color of a trimmed page: the outer layers of the page being darker than the interior due to time and exposure. Once the page is trimmed the inner color is revealed on the edge.
  14. Do some research. Check auction sites for sales of similar condition Hulk 1's. Look at Heritage, comiclink, comic connect, ebay. Check prices of sold and unsold items. Book not sold? What was the price compared to a book that sold? BUY a gpa subscription.
  15. I use both fullbacks and halfbacks. If the book has some value I put a fullback board in the mylite. If less value then a halfback. Condition and value of the book are the determining factor ( along with a little "on a whim" )\
  16. agree completely. As a former run collector I no longer bother and it is directly due to renumber/ restarting/ continuity.
  17. I am not sure. Shane was talking about the guy that usually sets up where Mike of Whyte was and that he had pre-paid for the next show to secure his spot but he couldn't come for the June show. Most likely you are correct.
  18. I contemplate if doing the June show is worth it. Paying for the 3 tables to net very little.
  19. I wasn't sure either. I am hoping it is because he won the Gale Allen page ( because then I know who has it for future pry barring...)
