  1. I wouldn't buy that slab either. The Mycomicshop book does present the best, and if you buy direct from them it is cheaper than the Ebay listing. My Ultimately I think if your grading skills are excellent you could buy a raw book in nicer shape for less than the cost of the cgc slabbed one that you submit yourself for pressing/cleaning/grading. The book isn't rare. If you live in a location that has comic shows attend them and look for a nice copy of the book. If internet buying stick to VF+
  2. I actually really like the first Blade with Wesley Snipes. I had high hopes for this film but things are so tumultuous at Disney/Marvel in all aspects whether it is a revolving door of casting, or a revolving door of scripts or a revolving door of directors that it is for the best that nothing gets made.
  3. Did this. Putting my Shock Suspenstories #6 F+ condition book back into the mylar and it caught the back cover and sliced it from bottom to about 3/4 of the back cover before I noticed. I will never use those open top mylars ever again because of it. Have a comic partner that sometimes uses them, and I change every single one of them to a mylite2 when I find them in our boxes.
  4. I honestly didn't even like that. The GoTG ask the guy they called Thor for help to fight the aliens and he proceeds to pluck Stormbreaker out of the planted pot it is in to shove it between his legs to fly to the battle, followed by the "Jean-Claude-Van Damme" pose against the 2 rocket speeder things, then the collapsing temple bit done for the "laugh", then the "ohh look at those" awful dialogue by the guy they called Thor upon receipt of the annoying goats as a reward for help. That gets you to about 15 minutes in to the film.
  5. hello my fellow Planet Comic enthusiasts! Just letting you all know I have listed my entire complete run of Planet Comics with Heritage Auctions in their special Fiction House event and the books can be viewed here: Heritage Auctions Search, 2023 October 19 The Fiction House Comics & Comic Art Showcase Auction 40235 [52 793 794 791 1893 792 2088 4294936486 4294967051] (ha.com) Had some life things happen and my well loved books will help with that. Thanks for the many years of fun and great discussions regarding this excellent science fiction comic run and looking forward to many more. Karl
  6. everything about Love and Thunder was extremely bad.
  7. Definitely. I am the same as you, don't like it don't hate it, but I definitely recognize the ability. Watched a James Corden video with Lady Gaga called Carpool Karaoke and it was a demonstration of her singing ability.
  8. In addition I hope they have learned you need to put out a very high quality product. Very well written otherwise it will flounder like The Flash. Is the Flash an A-list property?
  9. as it sits I am at 9.2 and I don't think it gets to a 9.4 but it might depending on how well it presses. What did you pay for it? I would think you got decent value for the purchase if you spent around $100 or less. Have a link to the auction? I am curious what quality of pictures were shown.
  10. yes it is a canadian price. Contact CGC and find out what they can do
  11. Sigh, unfortunately you are correct. Marvel will likely push forward whatever product they have and I think they will put out She-Hulk season 2 and likely expect The Marvels to be a resounding worldwide success making the assumption that the same audience that flocked to the Barbie movie will flock to their stuff.
  12. the cgc 8.5 is not trimmed. It just has a cover that has the image further up on the paper. Look at the distance between Magneto's hand and the bottom of the book compared to other copies.
  13. I agree. Perhaps my own fault for knowing nothing about the character but then a well told story should help me get me up to speed instead of confusing me.
  14. Hi, There is a lot that goes into grading a card. To your visual eye you think the cards are mint but then you will need to look at: -edges of the card -surface of the card -corners -centering (needs to be exact) -front and back -time frame to send in a card have it graded and returned to you versus the change in value of the market. There was a very brief period in time where the 199x Impel Marvel cards were worth something, not any more. -value of the graded card by the various companies that grade: which company tends to be the best value? A card fresh out of a pack you just opened may not be a 9.0 and is very likely even lower You have to hit above 9 to make the Marvel cards worth considering and even then they most likely are not worth the risk in paying to get the card graded hoping to hit a 10. If you are truly interested in this industry you could buy a few graded examples of cards (cheap ones) so you can learn what may make a card high enough grade to consider sending in. Here is a link to a sold 1991 Thanos psa 9 graded card as an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/155706763486?hash=item2440d8a8de:g:MXsAAOSwTHFkzSYf&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0JWD%2Fj95udj9hfh3ivckxbS08bBdxQzn81Nlv3O1fdfCdi8hm5V5wEnFe0uLMJ7oiea%2F6ZKa9RndBVFHK%2BUNQqyDpTjZoNo4iS1SL1JL2C4HMFRSjep964ilKhaa9ksCoS55SBe3QpCP3hJRWfcztud5XFaiiqajtevo7zC9A3sv56XGN1Cy5oiHeo1XFGq22eawxK9dDfpM%2F%2F1Ko8MN0C53gSWX5xPBTsEUJYEcnFT2mXNKWPyQJjBBeHCQnSysyHdlcMUMYvC75Li2XyMpfYs%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-bPmtnFYg
  15. I started buying comics when I was 5, and began buying comics with my own money earned from a paper route at age 8. Back then it was the book you found and held in your hand. I quit collecting in 1990, but returned in 2004 and at that time you could find books on the internet. I prefer to buy the book in hand, but as I gravitated to the books that are not as easily found sometimes you have to buy online. I am definitely a "thrill of the hunt" type.
  16. so I saw Blue Beetle, I fell asleep before he obtained the scarab. I awoke from my slumber and saw I had missed a bit because he had the scarab at that point but as I really had no idea what was going on I tried to just enjoy it. Overall it was "just there" for me, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone nor do I have any desire to watch it again. If the film is very good: 1. I don't fall asleep viewing it 2. I have an interest in viewing it again and often can watch the film multiple times. Blue Beetle is one -and-done
  17. I give it a 6 out of 10. Not as good as either of the previous films: GoTg 1 = 8/10, GoTG 2= 7/10. GoTG 3 does have quite a bit of the forced humor you mentioned. Example: I saw no reason for the multi-colored space suits it was just a gimmick included in the film for laughs. The High Evolutionary comes across as very "over the top" in my opinion.
  18. my perspective on Rachel Zegler: you would think Disney would actively work on shutting this stuff down yet since it seems to be allowed to continue I assume she is only saying what she has been authorized to say?
  19. no because it no longer fits. You see I have gained a lot of weight since the release of Pulp Fiction and I tried to get my vast bulk into "the suit" several years ago and it ripped beyond repair. Occasionally i go over to the basement to see what remains: the Mask #1 and #2.
  20. further convinces me DC has no clue what they are doing. "He's back!" - Black Adam "He's gone" - Gunn Universe "He's Back" - Blue Beetle
